I have been a fan of artificial trees for years primarily because I am deathly afraid of fire. Thought I would share the new one I got at Costco this week. I love, love, love it! It has LED clear lights AND colored LED lights which you can turn on separately or have both alternate. The tree is a 7.5' Evergreen that has branches that are not sharp as so many of my past ones had. It if really full and does not require the owner to position the various limbs. It comes out of the box in a perfect tree shape. I ended up having my finish carpenter who came today to install a door also set up the tree as the box was 66lbs which I could not even get out of my car. The main reason I set it up is to ensure the lights worked which would have required my taking it back if they had not worked. I will be keeping my drapes closed for a month so the neighbors don't think I have lost my marbles I checked out the internet for similar trees and found a couple which were $500-1000. Costco's is $279 for the 7.5' tree. If you are looking for an artificial tree this year, I highly recommend going to Costco. Now I need to get busy making ornaments Once I get it decorated, I will post a picture. In taking inventory of my ornaments in storage which are many as I change themes almost annually, I couldn't help myself but to go ahead and decorate the tree. Ornaments happen to coordinate with my furniture so it really doesn't look too out of place Also forgot to mention that the tree instructions indicate that you can not use other lights such as lighted tree toppers due to the LED lights. So I made an arrangements to put on top. Here are the pictures Edited by user Friday, October 12, 2012 8:51:56 AM(UTC)

We had always had real trees which I love. Two years ago I had put up our tree and it was beautiful. I even went on line to find some tips to decorating a picture perfect tree. It was beautiful for two days! The tree died! Pine needles were all over the floor. Water was still in the tree stand. Ornaments were falling off! I was devastated!! Holes had been drilled for the water and we had paid a nice price for the tree. Anyway, after the clean up, I headed out to find the prefect artificial tree. I went everywhere and finally found one at Target. I later ordered a tree bag to use for storage. It is a prelit one also. And I love it!

We do artificial trees here too. Love that they are prelit so you don't have to struggle with the lights. Since your tree is already up, you can always do what stores like Hobby Lobby do. They decorate their huge tree with a fall theme. They have pumpkins, sunflowers, pilgrims, native Americans, turkeys, and just everything for the season. Plus, if you decorate it seasonally, people will just see that you used your tree to celebrate the season. It would probably look pretty with some pretty Cricut leaves on it. Enjoy your new tree. It sounds beautiful.

I can't wait to see your tree! I have to buy a new one this year; DGS might get to come to grandma's for Christmas!!! I haven't put up a tree for four or five years and got rid our mine. We have a new COSTCO coming to our area (45-mile trip)! I can't wait until they open...maybe in a few weeks, I hope. Char

It sounds beautiful. I bought a small artificial tree for my Mom,s room at the care center. Idecorated it every month for her depending on the month . January-snowman and snowflakes, February-herts and cupids, and so on. I also made her a large centerpiece for eash season featuring Ana L ee dolls. She loved those dolls and the arrangements came out cute. Since she passed away, I will miss doing that for her. I miss her every day.....Rosemary

Just added the picture of the tree with the colored lights on. For some reason it would not upload when I added the other two pictures.
Thanks ladies for the suggestion on decorating it for the various holidays and events. Unfortunately I didn't read my post before I used Christmas decorations or I definately would have adorned it in fall stuff.

That sure is a gorgeous tree! What do you do when the lights go out and you can't string other lights on it? My tree last year had the bottom lights go out and that is why I am wondering. I just strung other lights in it. Same for my other tree except all the lights went out on that one so had to string the whole tree. Seems like the prelighted trees only last a few years but it may be because we keep them lit all the time and do not turn them off until after New Years.

Thank you for the review. We have an artificial tree, but it only has white lights - I really wanted multi color, but my husband bought it for me to be nice so I couldn't complain. It's been a few years so maybe it's time for a new one ;o)
