Jill has an M's and a J's a little over mile away! They are small stores, but nice and close. I got several Christmas paper stacks for 70% off! And I got the chalkboard stack. And ribbon yarn to try those ruffle scarfs I have been seeing.

Jill has Lasik on her eyes this morning, so I took the ruffle yarn to start knitting a scarf. It is really odd to knit with. Way different yarn.

Sandra, glad you are feeling a bit better. They are calling the flu an epidemic here. I don't know about Canada. SO GLAD we get flu shots. I know that you can still get it, but usually not as bad as a regular case.

Angie, I am sure that your Valentine's party will be lots of fun! And I am so happy that your water thawed!!!

Debbie, you are WAY ahead of us, and Kate's wedding will be six weeks from the time we get home. Oh boy. Glad my girls go for simple.

Jeffie is playing a rousing game of fetch in the middle of the living room. He has the area rug all scrooged up.

I am hoping to use Artiste and the chalboard paper (I bought chalk) to make my Christmas Thank You's next week. Also, there is a mall with a Macy's, Penny's, and Nordstrom Rack right down the road (a mile). I would like to go and see if I can find a dress for Kate's wedding. If I don't ever find one, I have a dress that I would be content to wear. It would just be fun to have a new one.

Last spring when we walked to the mall/Costco/J's and M's with Jeffie, he was so small that he would get tired and we had to carry him part of the way! Not any more!!!!!

Debbie.... sounds like to me you have a lot on your plate. Wedding invites, menu's. I like the fact that your DD is on the ball and wanting to get things done and worry about the little things.

DH got an appt for his MRI on Weds and then we go see a Ortho consult the following week...praying he can make it till after DS's Marine graduation on Feb. 1st!

But I don't have anything in mind to do with it, so I decided not to get it. But I wonder if I should in case I find something to make and then can't find the paper. But I do too much of that, and need to stop. Hope you find a dress. Nice to have a new dress, especially for a special occasion. Where is your cruise too??

Haven't been on the board over the holidays Glad everyone is ok after all the power outages, etc. we were pretty lucky here in Iowa where we usually get hit hard with winter storms.
It is so fun to read everyones post and see what they are up to. Crafters are such a great community anyway..........always have been.
Our delinquent pet rabbit coped an attitude. I moved his food dishes and he promptly moved em back to the exact spots where they were, I was trying to give him more room but guess he liked the old layout best. too funny. I always get asked at work how he is doing well I found out Fri. when I got out of the car to go into work. I looked at my fairly new big Miche bag and saw tiny chew marks on one of the handles. i could harldy contain myself. AARGH that BAD rabbit. Anyway he must of not liked the taste as he chewed no further and luckily I can trim it smooth and put black leather dye on the edge to cover up the white core of the handle.
Decided I am gonna contact PUrina and comment on how they only do dog and cat food commercials and we use Purina rabbit food, BFF buys Purina horse food, etc. They need to promote their other pet products as well. I would have never guessed they made rabbit pellets till I went shopping for food for Bunny Boy.
Just watched a neat youtube video on making gift card holders out of toilet paper roll cores. Way cute idea at www.margaret-ilovecrafting.blogspot.com and even though the holiday is over I have a bunch of birthdays coming up and am now making a welcome card type thing for new residents at the assit. living where I work and got the idea to do this format and put welcome on the front and have a pull out tag with a gift cert. for their first shampoo & set on the inside. I have been saving the cardboard things, but hubby keeps taking them from time to time for the bunny to chew on- it is paper which is wood and they chew wood when they can get it. I have a good stash of them up in my craft room at home. Always was going to make the mini album out of them with the bind it all rings edge.........and each one has a pull out tag in the middle fun project..............Happy crafting and stay warm if you live in a cold zone like I do. sharanPaperkrafter

Well today didn't turn out as I had planned. Troy got up this morning with a hugh swollen red eye, so I figured we had better get it checked. It was slightly red last nite but he said he had gotten shampoo in it and of course the only eye drops I could find in the house were well expired.! So took him to the medi-clinic but it was closed, then into the pharmacist and she said he had best see a dr. So off to the hospital we went, but we were in and out in less than an hour. Dr. said he has pink eye and needs a special presc. When I picked up the presc., the gal said it wasn't covered because it was over-the-counter.! If she would have told me that when I dropped it off we could have just got it and left instead of making a trip back. Had a hockey game this afternoon, now have to get some stuff ready for school tomorrow as it is our Jolly January week. We take special little things for a person and don't reveal ourselves until the end of the week. Always a fun time. . DD just called and said her team won second place in their ringette tournament. They were over the moon as it's the first time this team made it to the finals.

Sonja: hope you & your ds feel better real soon. Tough cookie managing to play his game today, good for him.

Nancy: glad you were able to find all those gift cards and put them to good use. We usually go to Cheap Tues., here also but of course the gift cards we get are for Cineplex theatres in the city. Expensive there too.

PaperKrafter: nice to see you back on the board again. You're right, us crafters are a great group. Too funny about your bunny, not so good for your bag though. Glad you are able to fix it. You should contact Purina about your bunny, you never know what they will do. I suppose dog & cat food are their biggest sellers though. I'm going to check that video out after I'm done here, sounds great and TFS. Your mini albums sounds interesting also, would like to see one of them.

It's been really cold here (well for us anyway). I know a lot of you live in colder regions than I do. We had the coldest night in 20 years last night. My DH is worried about our motorhome. We keep it in Mesquite, NV in the winter so we don't have to winterize it and it gives us somewhere to go occasionally to get away from the snow and cold here. But it looks like it has been really cold down there as well the last few nights.

I have been shopping lately for TOO much fabric. I have gone to the fabric stores with my friend and have found cute flannel. i make baby blankets and burp cloths with the baby's name and then they are hemstitched and the edges crocheted. Well this weekend I decided to cut them out to get ready to sew and finish. I got it ALL out and I have 30 sets! I thought I had maybe 10. My daughters (and even my son occasionally) are always asking me for some for gifts for friends and coworkers so they won't last long, but I was amazed at how much I actually had. Good thing I only buy it on sale, and that my husband has no idea!

We started out the morning with snow and snowed all day until late afternoon and it turned to rain! It's not supposed to freeze tonite so hopefully the roads won't be bad in the morning. I went with Troy and his staff to get him fitted for his custom brace...all went well, though some of the paperwork has to be redone to make sure it will go through for the governments satisfaction. Here we go again! My Jolly January gift for today was a bunch of the Tassimo brewing cups and of course, I don't have a machine! So my decision is to buy a machine or give them away! Do any of you have a Tassimo and what are your thoughts on it? The flu bug has hit our school...about 6 staff away today.

I also have dabbled in almost every craft that has come along, of course my favorites now are scrapbooking and cardmaking. Joy - when you get back, let me know how the sea days were getting there. we are looking at that cruise, but DH thinks I would get sick on the open sea. I don't think so, but he does because the first cruise we went on, I got really sick one night when we were in a storm close to a hurricane. But that was a 16 years ago and I'm sure the ships have better stabilizers now. Have fun! Love to cruise.

Shelly, we did this same cruise last February. We had some rough seas, enough to cancel the show one night for the safety of the dancers, but the crew all said that it was very unusual to have it so rough. We take ginger to help with any nauseau. You can get it in capsule form at WalMart, pretty cheap.

We found out about 5 p.m. tonight that the friends that we are going on the cruise with are showing up tomorrow, not Thursday! I am so glad they called to check in, or their bed would not be ready for them! We are giving them the room we sleep in with the real bed, and we are moving to the room with a futon.

I got one scarf done, and am a little over half done with the second one. They are cute.

DH and Jill went to Home Depot and I think they are buying a small sink/vanity for Jill's bathroom. She has a pedestal sink that is just too big for the size of the bathroom, NO counter space and NO storage, other than a shelf that she has sitting in the bathroom. But she does have an amazing jetted tub that was in the bathroom when she bought the house. It is great to soak in.

I am not familiar with a Tassimo, but Megan's fiance' got her a Keurig for Christmas. She left it at our house most of Christmas break to share it!

Hi everyone;
We had a lovely day today, I think it hit 7 but with a wind. It helped dry the roads but our back playground has started to turn into a lake! So of course, we have kids coming in soaked. Just got back from coffee with a couple of friends. Have to finish a birthday card for one of them as it's her birthday Thurs., but am meeting up with her again tomorrow.

Joy: I'll have to keep an eye out for that cart. I checked Cricutmachine last nite and couldn't find it either. Sounds like dh is keeping busy with your dd's house. Glad you are enjoying making the scarves.

Today is cleaning and organizing my scrap stuff. It has gotten out of hand. I'm embarrassed when people come over. SO today's the day. Not really getting rid of anything, just finding new places for it.

It is so cold in my studio so I'm slowing bringing everything downstairs. I'm sure Jamal's not too thrilled about that, but eventually it will warm up up here.

Someone asked about a spaceheater, I have a propane heater up here, but it just dosen't get the room warm. So if I'm up here I have the heater practically right on top of me. My computer is up here so I don't come up for very long.

A freind suggested putting in a wood burning foreplace, so I might check that out. No sense in having the space all the stuff and not being able to use it.

The reason It's so cold up here is it's not insulated, concrete walls and on both side of the walls are open patios so it get cold.


Joy good luck with the sink. A girl needs her bathroom storage.
