An RAK, or Random Act of Kindness, in regards to this particular one, is granting someone's specific wish, without receiving the same thing, or necessarily anything, back. In a SWAP you are receiving a similar item, that someone has made, as the item you are sending to someone. Hope that wasn't confusing.
* Should all of my wishes be listed together, or can I spread them out during the month?
They should be listed in one spot, though you can take the month to decide. I usually put TBD, to be determined, when I do not know what I want.
* Is it OK to ask for 4 or 5 of a cut per wish?
Yes, but usually if you want more than that, you should list it as a separate request, even though it is from the same cart. It kind of depends on how involved the cuts you are asking for are to make. You can ask for more than five in one request, but you should keep in mind how much work your granter will have to do. This is more my opinion than the rule, so it is best that grandmaJ handle this one....
o] * What is the best way to mail them? It depends on what you are mailing. If it is just a few cuts, a regular envelope should be fine. Most people include something in the envelope to keep it from being bent, like a piece or two of cereal box, chipboard, light cardboard, etc. If you have several cuts to mail, you can use a padded envelope or even a small box...it just depends on what you are mailing. Most cuts can be mailed in a regular envelope. * What is the best way to keep everything straight? Do I just go through all of the posts, and if a wish does not have GRANTED next to it, it is still OPEN, and I just PM the person (and post that I will take care of it)? When my wishes(s) is granted, I Edit the post to GRANTED, and then RECEIVED? I go through the posts, as sometimes a wish is granted, but not listed as granted yet. You do not have to PM the person, unless you have some question about their cut. Listing that you are granting their request and asking for their address on the thread will suffice. And, you have it exactly right as far as your requests go. I know these are alot of questions, but I've never done a RAK before. Never fear asking questions. It is better to know than to guess. grandmaJ is our wonderful hostess, and she may have more to add to the answers I have given you. So glad you are joining. Hope I have been of some help. Blessings, GG. Thank you so much![/color] Edited by user Saturday, January 12, 2013 2:00:18 AM(UTC)
