I'm in need of help. I'm brand new to this, just hooked my cricut up for the first time a few days ago and my computer had some trouble reading it, had to install drivers. Anyway, now that is all good but when I try to enter the Craft Room all it says is Initializing Craft Room and it does not move from there. I've tried every day since. I've uninstalled, re-installed, tried it all. How can i fix this and finally get started on making some awesome projects!!!!?? Ahh Please help!!

Most likely, your antivirus software is blocking CCR. What program do you use? A lot of the antivirus software programs will require to add CCR to the exceptions and maybe even run as an administrator.
Or, if your computer is new with windows 8, you'll need to run in compatibility with windows 7.

I'm having the same problem. I've uninstalled, re-installed, and run in compatibility mode. Craft Room remains on "Initializing..." I don't use Norton Anti-Virus, but I'll check to see if the anti-virus I am using is the problem. Fingers crossed that it works!

I'm having the same problem. The Craft Room will not open, it just keeps initializing. I'm new to Cricut. I have Windows 8 and Norton 360.I have uninstalled, re-installed, restarted, changed the exclusions on the antivirus. That did not work. HELP!

Something must be going on...I just started having this problem yesterday. I have been using it with absolutely NO problem, now all of a sudden, I get the "initializing" FOREVER...I have completely shut down everything several times. Getting very frustrated.

Could it be possible that your anti-virus program did an update?
