I received my new Cricut Expression 2 right before Christmas and have been practicing cutting with it. I still have a long way to go but it is so much fun. Whenever I begin the cut process, the machine just seems to be very loud. Is this normal?

Hi Sandra,
Some noise is normal. It's hard describe the exact sound, but it shouldn't be so loud that it hurts your ears or enough to wake someone up in another room. It should sound almost like an old dot matrix printer. My suggestion would be to go to Youtube and watch videos of people using their E2's and compare the sound.
The amount of noise also depends on the detail of the cuts you are doing since the machine will have to move a lot more.
