I have Windows 8, also. I've been running it on compatability mode since there is not update for 8 yet for CCR. Just right-click and go to properties. It's so easy to do. I hope it works for you! http://learningcurve2012.blogspot.com/

You may also need to run it as an Administrator. Narelle has lot of info and tutorials on her CCR blog {click on the www at the bottom of this post}.
