I bought this cartridge on sale and haven't yet decided to keep it. Does anyone know if you can make the card any size or are the cards all the same size regardless of style? I think I read in a previous post about a 6" card.

I don't have this cart, but I would think you could cut at almost any size you wanted.

Hi,
I own the Christmas Cards cartridge and you can make the cards any size you wish and then once you choose your size leave it at that for everything you cut for that card....it's an awesome cartridge I've made all the cards on it and love...love it....it is so great because everything is layed out for you just layer...layer and then once you've gone thru and made each card as show in each column now you can go and re-design any way you choose......it is the best cartridge ever and simple....simple to use.

Thank you Larkspur and Joan for your replies. Maybe I'll keep it but still haven't decided yet for sure since I have a few other Christmas cartridges that I so love. I really liked the designs of the cards themselves when I originally bought this cartridge.
Thanks again for your input!

I want to thank you too! I have this cart, bought it as part of a bundle when I only Needed the Thanksgiving one, but it looked really nice. Thanks for the heads up, for when I'm ready to use my cart. Every one on this board is so helpful !

I purchased this cart last month when it was released and I've buried myself in Christmas cards They are a blast to make and in my opinion, far better than store bought cards! When my DH saw how many Christmas cards I've already made, he just shakes his head and then sweetly reminded me that halloween is the next holiday on the calendar...not Christmas. I'm seriously considering sending him out to purchase all the cards we will need to send out this year! Wanna guess what he would bring back? Probably 2 for a $1.00. Not that it would be a BAD thing but, I think Christmas cards should be special. I still have the Christmas card I sent to DH in 1971 when he was in the service! So use that cart! You'll have fun!

I have this cartridge too. I learned that when using 12 x 12 paper you should not cut the card any larger than 5 3/4 because if you do, you are unable to cut an envelope to fit. I have not tried anything with a 24 inch mat and paper. But, you can size the images anyway you want. Hope this helps!

I also made a few cards at 6 and then couldn't get an envelope to fit them! I have used the basic card cut outs for Halloween and Thanksgiving cards!!

What I did was use gypsy and changing the size, looking at the grid, made sure that it fit within the size of the envelope I wanted to use - cut a test, made any adjustments (if was too big or small)...then went to town cutting!

For those of you who have used this cart did you make them square or rectangle? I like some of the designs, but don't want to end up paying extra postage for sooo many cards! So, I was thinking of keeping the design but cutting my own card.

The envelope that fits each individual card is at the bottom of the keyboard in the same column as the card. Cut your envelope on "fit to page" first, or with the baby bug at the largest size it will cut. Then downsize your card base 1/4" from that and leave it that way with the rest of the layers. I think on a 12"x12" paper, the envelope can only be at 5 1/4", which means that you cut your card at 5 in. to make sure it fits. It worked for me.

Thanks for asking this question & THANKS to all of you who answered & shared your tips!! I've been sitting here looking at this cart, wanting to use it, but not quite sure how it works. Maybe I should be embarrassed to admit that but, I wish that PC would spare us a few more details on some of these carts...I'd even be willing to pay for a few more instructions !! Ok, I'm off to give it a try...wish me luck

Yes thanks a lot for answering this question. I wish we had our own cricut magazine with design ideas and such. That would be good and yes a bit more info at the start with each cartridge would be good too. This was very minimal. Susan

Thank you all very much for the information, this cartridge is pretty neat, except I couldn't figure it out, think I understand it now and am planning on making some cute cards. I agree that it sure would be nice to have a cricut magazine for ideas and perhaps more instructions. I'm still at the beginner stage of learning, but really enjoy it. Hugs to all, Flo

redrose wrote:i would like to know how to do the snowman card hope someone can helpeon this Redrose go to this blog site as Tammy has created videos on how to make each of these cards: http://www.scrapcavecreations.com/This really helped me as I couldn't figure out how this cart worked either! It would have been nice to have basic instructions. Each column on the keypad is used to create one card instead of having a layers feature.
