Thanks for posting partners Kelley, now maybe that TAPPING will stop. Beanie, let me know how you want your spool done. I would like mine done in black, white and turquoise because I'm thinking of putting it in DD's room. Other than that, the sky's the limit. trvkladd, if you have a blog, the blog button shows up in your posts (next to your PM button), so Kelley's website/blog is linked to that blog button at the bottom of her posts. I can't wait to see what you're going to be doing. I will be on from 11 - 3 on the 1st...looking forward to your February kick off! Big waves to my new partner Cindy~ Looking forward to getting to know you better...I'm not going to make any crafting requests regarding my spool. I will leave it all up to you. Robin my color is green (not lime but everything else is fair game) and I want you to do whatever you do best. I love to see what everyone can come up with when there are no restrictions applied.
Turquoise should be no problem in the Southwest. Can't wait to get started, already have some ideas floating around inside the head. lol
Let the games begin and I can't wait to see what everyone creates.
Thank you Kelley for posting partners early.

She is at her in-laws. She should be on her way back home today. K For everyone else - don't be concerned yet if your partner doesn't get back to you right away, some may be checking on the First to see if partners are posted...(some don't know that I easily cave to peer pressure and will assign partners early ) that being said, please do send your partner a pm with your your contact info and any preferences. For me I am pretty easy - stay away from pink and cutesy - and you have free reign to do anything else. Kel

You can do something with the mini's too if you wanted. Too bad it isn't before Christmas - I saw on pinterest where they made two different types of christmas trees out of the smaller spools. So cute. Ooooh I did see where they did a heart shape out of the minis. (valentine's day). I had bought a big bag of them from Craft Warehouse a while back - made by Darice. I think M's and J's carries them - maybe a different manufacturer. Kel

I'm confused what size spool are you using (this question is open to everyone)? I went thru my sewing machine cabinet and found some really nice older spools but they are only about 1 1/2" tall this seems so small to me. I have never done this project before so maybe that is what is usually used.
If I go to M's where do they have the spools? I was there today but the place was almost cleaned out. That must have been one heck of a sale. lol Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
Robin what do you think? About what size spool would you like? See this is one of those questions where size really does matter. lol

Just got your PM COB and sent you one back! JrCreate- I made some christmas trees with the small ones (they are so cute!) and I saw a gorgeous snowflake made with the tiny ones on Pinterest too! Michaels has 3" ones in their wood section. They sell them individually for about $1.30 here. They are probably cheaper elsewhere in the country! Can't wait to start on this! So maybe I shouls TAP, TAP, TAP for my reply!!

Debbie I have a bag of 8 wooden spools that are 2 1/8" tall that I ordered about a month ago in anticipation of this swap. They had lots of sizes and I'll figure out where I got them and post it for you. But I'm probably going to use an empty spool from some tulle that I used for the Halloween Homemade swap. But then I finished some aluminum foil making the ham on Tues. and it had a really rugged inner spool as well so I may change my mind If you go to Pinterest and type altered spools into the search box you get a gazillion pictures using all different types/sizes. I'll bet you have something at home already that you're just not seeing as a spool... I got them through Joann.comEdited by user Friday, December 28, 2012 7:52:15 PM(UTC)

Beanie...I stopped at an antique store today and she had just put out some old spools. I probably paid too much for them, but I like the shape. These are about 2 1/2 tall. I think any spool will work and any size is fine for mine.
This is going to be a great swap. Thank you Kelley for starting this challenge.
