Hi everyone.

Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas. We did as well. Christmas and Christmas Eve were LONG days. Finally got my wrapping done and made some gift card holders. Finished just as my family started showing up on Christmas Eve for our get together. We always have a pizza party and my kids draw names and exchange presents that night. My sister, her kids and my dad come over for this night. It was kinda short for my dad, as he is 84 and insists on driving himself and it was snowing, so he ate and left.

Christmas day was long. My kids started coming over about noon. We had our grandson for a while while my daughter and SIL went to a movie with his siblings. So after our Christmas dinner some had to leave, but the rest waited for our daughter who is an RN, to get off work. She volunteered to work that day, so that those with families could be home with their kids, so she showed up around 8:30 and she opened her gifts and they all talked till around 10:30 My DH was so exhausted from chasing the GS. He ADORES his "gumpa" and drags him all over.

Love the blue shoes for the wedding shoes, and the cowboy boots or flip flops! Two of my daughters wore converse shoes, pink for one and turquoise for the other. Made some cute pictures. The one with the turquoise shoes, had her bridesmaids wear orange ones, (her colors were those colors).

We found out on Christmas Eve that one of our daughters is pregnant! I'm so excited for her, as she has been having fertility problems. She has endometriosis and has had a few surgeries for that. She has been trying for over a year with no luck. They had an appt with a fertility specialist to start some other treatments and the day before, her husband talked her into taking a test to just make sure before they went. She didn't want to, because she didn't want to be disappointed again, but she did. She said she probably took five tests that day because she didn't believe it! Now she's scared to death she will miscarry. So we will have two new babies this summer, one in July and one in August. (Our dd with the GS is also having one)

Joy, my dad is doing amazing well for someone his age. On his mother's side of the family, they live long lives. My grandmother (his mom) died at 90 and she was the youngest of the females. Her sisters were in their LATE 90s (97 - 99) and one was 100. His grandmother, my great grandmother was almost 102! He is good about not going out in too bad of weather. But, he scares me. We have gotten a lot of snow the past few days, and he does snowblows his whole street. It keeps him active. Last summer was the first year he did not golf almost every week day, and he walked it, at least 9 holes everyday and a lot of days 18. He just felt he didn't have a powerful enough swing anymore and it wasn't as fun. He also quit going to the gym in the winter and just walks a mile or more everyday. At the gym he would get upset if he would see a women who could outdo him on weight machines! I had to keep telling him, they were LOTS younger than him and it was ok. Only wish I was as fit as him. He will probably outlive me!

I am so excited to get these grandbabies!! Hoping my other daughter is pregnant soon, as she said they are trying to. Could have a bundle soon! Now if my oldest daughter would just find a good guy!

Grandkids are fun! Hope you get some in a few years! You can play with them and send them home when they are tired and grumpy, and spoil them rotten and let mom and dad deal with it.

Hi everyone;
Spent the afternoon at the Starwars Exhibit. It was great...sil really loved it; he said it was the highlight of his trip here.! Then he and dd treated us to dinner on the way home at Fatburgers. Turned out to be a lovely day. Just downloaded a bunch of pics and sent them off to Wal-Mart for printing. Will pick them up tomorrow when we go for family photos. Now to find some Starwar scrapbooking paper, not sure if there are any carts with anything on or not.

Shelly: congrats on the new grandbabies. Fingers-crossed everything goes well for both of them. Both of my dd's have been married 4 years and I'm still waiting

Joy: my mom turns 84 on Jan. 1, has slowed down a bit this past year but still thinks she can do everything. If the Starwars Exhibit comes your way make sure you go see it. I'm not sure where it goes from here.

Sonya: glad you got some crafting in, hope you were able to make it to the gym

Sharon: hope the orthodontist appt. went well for your dd.

Did i tell you all that we ended up with 8 inches of snow. I didn't buy my son boots this year. The years that I have, we have gotten no snow, so I didn't bother. We're supposed to get more tonight. I let him wear my boots yesterday to go outside for a bit. He had fun, didn't care he was wearing fuzzy topped ladies boots.

I made a few cards last night with a new stamp set that I got. Super cute. I love to stamp!

Sandra - What a nice family picture. Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope you get some grandbabies soon. I think my grandson is going to have his nose out of joint when these two new ones come. He will have had everyone's attention for two years and to share it will be interesting.

We got more snow last night! We are probably at 12 inches since Christmas Eve. I'm ready for it to be done!

Sharon - Hope your mouth is better. I hate the dentist. Need to go back for more work after the first of the year.

I got a tablet for Xmas and I would like to find the pdfs of the cricut cartridge handbooks to put on there. Does anyone know where I can find these now that cricut took them down. Don't understand why they would do that.

Oh, I also got a new dryer yesterday. Mine went out in October. We were hoping to get it fixed, but it was too much. It comes sometime today, so no more hauling wet clothes to the laundromat. I'm just glad its only me and my husband's anymore. I've been married 31 years and we have always just bought used ones, and this time I got a new one. We've always had good luck with them. I think we've had three in that time.

I have been putting together invites all afternoon. DH will probably need to print about 20 more.

And DH, Megan, and Brandon have been moving Brandon. He is moving back in with his parents until he and Meg get married, but most of his stuff is being moved into Megan's house. And Megan has to get rid of a bunch of stuff like furniture and appliances, since his were nicer than hers.

Hi everyone;
Busy day here today; coffee with a friend, then family photos and shopping this afternoon, then a friend of Kristi's came by with her family for a visit. We had leftovers tonite also...cleaned out the fridge a bit. Got a new crockpot today for $20.00! I think I will try it out tomorrow...maybe do a pot roast.

Ugh, it has been back to work again, I really could have done with a few more days off LOL. We are still in the midst of our heatwave, it is draining and hard to find the energy to do much. today I have a housewarming party to go to, have to take a dessert and that requires putting the oven on, it is going to heat up the house even more!! I have a card that I made with a bird house on it which I am hoping I can adapt to a good luck in your new home card as I don't have time to make one.

I don't think there will be any grandchildren for me for a few years yet but that is okay, I can wait

Well on a good note DH got his Sleep machine yesterday... very interesting contraption!!!!

Took him hours to fall asleep but finally did.. He has to rent it for 3 months and they monitor him he must use it everynight...

Once he does that then he will get his machine for good...

Went to chiropractor early this morning 7:45am then off to Supermarket looking for a Turkey
finally found one I don't know if there is a shortage but they didn't have many out. I bought a small one because honestly I don't want to be in the kitchen all day New years Day so we bought a 15 pounder and I will make all the trimmings to go with it.

If I had my way I would have skipped NY Day celebrations but it has been a family tradition from when I was a child (My dad's Birthday) so even when he passed in 2001 we continued along with my mom.

Last year I skipped it and DD was sad.. poor baby so this year i will do it.

Then off to the Diner for a nice home cooked breakfast..

I had the usually American Cheese omellete with egg whites LOL Had to cut the cholostrol some where...

Oooooh. I'm in for the Christmas card challenge. I didn't get any made this year like I wanted to and wanted to try and make a few each month. This will help me really do it!

You should make Abagail a "tag blanket", (I think that's what they are called). You get some small pieces of soft fabric, 2, about 12" square and sew pieces of ribbon and ric-rac hanging out of all the edges. Made one out of minky material for my GS. He loved playing with that.

The Star Wars dolls sound cute. You can do so much with that cartridge!

Sharon - The paper doll stamps sound like fun. Your girls would probably have lots of fun with those. I remember them as well, from my childhood. Loved playing with them.

Sharon - Love my crockpot. Have you seen those bags you put inside it, so that clean up is easy. I love those things. Just take it out and throw it away when done cooking, and hardly any clean up.

I am wanting to do some crafting, but my husband has been off all week and is following me around because he is bored. I don't know what he is going to do in the winter when he retires in a few years. In good weather, he goes hiking and works out in the yard, but with all the snow we've had, he has been stuck in the house and crabby, and is driving me nuts. He's off all next week too! He wants us to go to stay in our RV we park in Mesquite, NV in the winter next week, but I have lots going on I need to be here for. He's might go by himself, if he doesn't guilt me into going. As much as I love him, he is driving me nuts, and it might be nice for him to go without me for a few days. Am I awful?
