Oh my gosh, what fantastic boxes have just been posted!!! I truly am in awe of the creativity we have on this board!!!
Gwynne, I know how you feel... REST!!!!!!!! and get better soon!
The placemat purses are the easiest things ever! Just fold wrong sides together, stitch both sides and then bring the side together with the bottom to make a triangle shape, stitch across it, turn inside out, hand sew some handles on and voila! I covered a plastic canvas piece and added that to the inside bottom for a little more stability, but wish I had made it wider! Then I make some "frou-frou" lace things for the front! I pinned Jen's on, because I wasn't sure if she'd like it or not! Jen, I am so happy that you like everything. The altered jar I'm making for me, too, because I just loved it so much! It really does look pretty at night!
Have a great evening all, I should be finishing my decorating, but am so chilled for some reason that I think I'll just relax for tonight and do it in the morning...
Take care!
Teri

Great boxes everyone. I love to see every ones take on the directives. I hope no one cares if I scraplift a LOT of these ideas. Gwynne I hope you feel better. I was flat on my back a few weeks ago and my daughter has it now. Everywhere you go someone has it. This was a great swap and I can't wait for the next one( depending on dh's health). Such a great bunch of ladies with a lot of talent.

Go to your Sent Messages and forward the texts to your e-mail. (add your email address to your contacts) Save the pics from your email to your computer and proceed as usual. That's what I do because I have no clue how to move stuff directly from my phone to anywhere...

I have an HTC as well. It's what I use to take all of my pics. If you touch on the picture after you've taken it a bunch of little icons will pop up at the bottom of the picture. The 3rd icon from the left is 2 little arrows click on that. Then a box will pop up and it will give you options bluetooth, facebook, facebook for HTC, flickr, gmail, etc. I have a gmail account associated with my phone so I always click on that. Your picture will automatically go into an email as an attachment. Send the email to your email account. Log on to your account and download the picture from your email account to your computer. Then you go into your download file (usually in your document file) and there your picture will be. Hope this helps

Kelley, everything you made peachy is just gorgeous! The Paris shadow box is awesome! Love the steampunk wreath and G45 altered frame too.

Peachy, is that G45 white frame not the prettiest frame you've ever seen?

Wonderful job and I'm sure peachy will enjoy it all.

So I have sat on couch and watched Hallmark channel christmas movies all day long and then a Christmas special on Andy Williams with clips of all his xmas shows from years past. Awesome!
I think I'm feeling better so that is good!

Thank you all for a marvelous swap!

Yes, I do have issues with those that always mail late and always have excuses, and usually the same excuse over and over. IT gets old.

For the record, here is a run down of who mailed late (DD was 12/5) this swap, and why: You will note that the list of names are not ones that mail late on a regular basis and not known to have excuses.

Beanie’sMom mailed on 12/6, her pkg. arrived to Candy on 12/8
She needed that extra day for a last minute reason and it was no big deal to me as one day late was vast improvement from last June when she mailed a month late. Her confidence has grown immensely and her craftmanship is superb. Plus I already knew we had Terri mailing late, so the drawing for the prize was already out the door.

AmyS mailed on 12/6, her pkg. arrived to COB on 12/11
She didn’t realize her PO closed at 4 on Wed. so she missed getting there in time

Kelley mailed on 12/8, her pkg. arrived to peachy on 12/14
I should note that Kelley paid for priority and the pkg. was suppose to arrive on 12/10

M&K Grandma mailed on 12/10, her pkg. to Jen arrived on 12/13
Teri was unfortunate to come down with a bad case of the flu on the DD; her post just prior to that said she’d be ready to mail on time – so obviously it was just a matter of her getting well enough to finish wrapping and tagging and getting it in the mail.

Tiffany mailed on 12/11, her pkg. arrived to Jean on 12/13
I should note here that I knew Tiffany was busy with finals the same week as mailing date and that Jean was away on vacation and then busy with a craft show that weekend so I let Tiffany know that it was okay to mail late as Jean wasn’t going to be home and that I had a couple other ladies mailing late so it would help keep the secrets of who had who if she needed the extra time, working around her papers and finals. So it was me that asked for that box to be mailed late.

Robin mailed on 12/11, her pkg. arrived to Terri on 12/12
I should also note here that I knew Terri was mailing late and last so when Robin’s husband ran into unexpected issues with tearing up her craft room floor and kept her from being able to unpack her craft supplies – I told her it was okay cuz fair is fair, if Terri is mailing late then it’s fine for Terri to receive late too.

PlanLady mailed on 12/12, her pkg. arrived to Sheila on 12/14
1. Terri’s family had a change of holiday plans which meant that Terri ended up traveling to Maine to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas at same time over the Thanksgiving week.
2. Terri returned from Maine only to find out her FIL was about to pass away; so off to the Carolina’s she traveled to give their final goodbye and stay on for the funeral.
3. Because Sheila’s son had passed away, Terri wanted to make sure she sent a super nice box so just throwing anything together from her stash was not an option, she wanted to do it right and we knew Sheila would understand having been thru the same circumstances herself.

Everyone else mailed on time but it should be noted that 7 of the boxes mailed on time arrived on the 10th or later. So boxes mailed late that still arrived that same week (10th thru the 14th), is not bad at all! For that, I was thankful that it did not drag on into this coming week. I see nothing wrong with any swap that is completed 9 days after the DD, knowing that we are at the mercy of the postal system during the start of the holiday season.

So bottom line, yes we had a handful mail late. It’s to be expected this busy time of year. The gals that mailed late don’t normally mail late and don’t normally have excuse after excuse after excuse. and Father in laws only die once.

I don't want to ruin anybody's Christmas, but since the world is supposed end 12/21/2012 LOL and if you are NOT RHONDA, please do not read what I will post below...

It's time for me to open my mouth, and since Rhonda lurks in this thread anyway, I'm sure she will read this.

Rhonda, the people who mailed their swaps late are not known for being HABITUALLY late. You do not want to cause drama in your swap yet you don't hesitate to cause drama in other people's swap. I will defend those who mailed late because I have become friends with them and I refuse to let you cast stones on them. I am sure you would be a lot nicer if you were in front of Gwynne or the late mailers in this swap if you were facing them in person and not hiding behind the computer screen.

Do not let your jealousy over seeing the beautiful items everyone else received be your motive in trying to spoil this swap for everyone else. Gwynne as the hostess has the prerogative in allowing who can or can't join because this is her swap. You mention God in your posts and I hope you remember Him all the time.

As for me, I will be praying for you to have a happy Christmas with fond memories with your loved ones, to make up for your bitterness to whatever happened to your life that I or the other message board members have no business knowing.

There are more serious issues in the world than swap drama. My heart goes out to the families of the shooting victims. I gave my baby an extra hug and kiss and I am thankful that I was able to do that. Here are a couple of Christmas pics that were taken a month ago and I forgot to share them. Laugh We had our picture taken in front of the tallest Christmas tree in the nation (according to the mall's advertisement). Daddy insisted that the baby should wear that outfit in this year's Christmas photo with Santa. LOL

That is one of the best "sitting on Santa's lap" pictures I've every seen Peachy! You are so lucky to have a place to go where they go all out decorating the background with real xmas items instead of just a movie screen backdrop with a scene painted on it.

And I like that outfit!

Thanks for sharing!

I just texted my daughter and find out she's still sick in bed with the flu! She's been in bed since Thursday evening. I'm so thankful that I didn't get as sick as she is! I feel so bad for her. I told her to first get better and then we'll figure out a plan of attack to get her all ready for Christmas on time. There are enough of us around here to figure it out somehow. So the more I hear of different ones getting the flu the more I realize that it's a bad strain this year!

And yes, my heart goes out to all those families in CT too. It's so sad and I start to tear up everytime I hear it being talked about on the TV.

Losing your child, at any age, is a terrible, terrible thing to go through and the pain never ever goes away. I hope that town will feel lots of kindness and tenderness from the rest of the world for a long, long time.

As a hostess, here is my two cents. Our goal, or at least as I see it, is to have a fun and successful swap where we share our talents and learn from others. The rules we place for our swaps are to help achieve that goal. There are times when we do have to look at trends like habitually mailing late, non-improving workmanship, and drama as to whether let someone in the swap as it takes away some of the enjoyment of the swap. Not letting someone in isn't an act of being rude or mean, but more meant to ensure the flow of the swap. That aside, There are times when people do need to mail late. It isn't something that is planned ahead and they are not habitual late mailers, just life happens. The key here, which is evident by Gwynne's post, is that each person who did mail late COMMUNICATED with her. They all did mail, myself included, within one week of the due date. I love how she handled each instance.

Yes I mailed 3 days late, and to my SS Peachy I am sorry. Blushing I did communicate with Gwynne several times and I did mail priority. I think though in the end my ss was happy that I did take the extra time and rework some projects and take more time to complete others.

With this season we should have Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards Men (women too). It is so unfortunate the things that have gone on this last week with the shooting at the Oregon Mall, the school shooting in Ct, and the shooting in Vegas. I cannot imagine what those families are going through. Although I cannot relate to the parents who lost children, I have known the sheer terror as parent of not knowing. My son's school was under gunfire in 2007, and the news from the media was skewed with misinformation at first. That was the longest 45 minute drive from my work to the school of my entire life. Fortunately no one was killed that day, just a few injured. The scariest thing is that if my son hadn't gone to his occupational therapy that day at the school during the time of the shooting, the outcome would have been different. It wasn't his normal time either, but the therapist had to make a schedule change that week. Thank goodness as his desk was in the line of fire by the window.

A local christmas tree farm donated a tree in memory to those who lost their lives in CT. They are placed down the road to the school. How cool is that random act of kindness. There is still good in this world.

Gwynne, sorry about your daughter being sick. Are you feeling better?

Peachy I remember the days of Santa - cherish them.

May you all have a wonderful, peaceful, loving holiday season filled with joy.

Kel

Peachy enjoy all of your goodies from Kelly they are great. Kelly great job see I told you there was nothing to stress out about.. LOL

Peachy when we were at my dd's during Thanksgiving we took the boys to see Santa and had a picture taken if I can get it to scan I will post it..

Gwen I hope both you and your daughter are feeling better.

I would like to thank you once again for being a great hostess and i agree that you have the
right to allow who you want in the swap as you have the information from past swaps and yes we do not need any drama on any of the swaps.

I have said that I was sorry to have to mail late but I was not going to just throw something together and not have it be special.

So since this is the Christmas season I will overlook the people who should be on the "naughty" list and just say I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and look forward to swapping with all the "nice" people in the new year.

Peachy that is one huge Christmas tree and your ds looks adorable
sitting on Santa's lap too. I agree with you that the incident in
Conn is a real prayer need. Those poor families.Crying

All is well here, Bill got his port in Friday so they will have an easier
time giving him his chemo. And with the $ we got from his benefit we
were able to buy a used 2008 Prius with only 35K miles on it. Can't wait to
see how good our mpg's are with this little buggy.BigGrin

Kel, anyone should be overjoyed to have you as a partner, you are the best,
course Pamela was no slacker either....waves to Pamela and Jeri.
Hope you all have a super awesome Christmas.
Big Hugs
Kathy

Kelley, there is no need to apologize for sending my AMAZING Drool box past deadline. The timing was perfect since we decorated late for Christmas and the banner just arrived on time. I just noticed the colors of the Lindy's sprays and believe it or not, I have scrubs with those colors--Lime and Carribean Blue.LOL

Kathy, enjoy your new car! The port would be very helpful to keep Bill from getting poked for blood draws, and of course, is a good access for him to get his chemo meds. I'm sending prayers for you both to stay strong and hoping for his speedy recovery!

The baby was 5 seconds from crying in that pic. lol! I wanted to have them retake the pic, but his nose was red from crying and he would be a "red-nosed baby" instead of Santa's Helper (that's what his shirt says).

Hubby and I put up the banner above our sliding glass doors and I also decided to hang right beside it the Steampunk wall hanging Kelley made. We put up a smaller tree this year and decorated it with nonbreakable ornaments just in case Mr. Busy Hands has ideas to do some decorating himself. I decorated the mantle with Cheryl's house and wreath, as well as some of our staples. The bigger wreath did not come that way. I decorated it with a couple of snowmen and some berry sprays. I am not ready for Christmas just yet. I still have to do some baking and wrap presents tonight. I know, I'm a slacker.LOL

Peachy looks good.. I am just now getting my Christmas decorations up.. grrrrr...

on top of everything else our pre lite tree decided to stop working so we had to count off all the lights and redo it.. not so fun it was a 9 foot tree and we put 1150 new lights on it.. so now just have to get the ornaments out and put them on.

my craft room is the last room i have to clean and decorate it.. so hopefully tonight i will get to do it..have to get my snowman banner hung up..

and yes the strawberries are great. Thanks again. Robin

Thank you Peachy. Those colors of Lindy's are beautiful. All though I love the Tattered Angels glimmer mists, I have dabbled with other manufacturers lately. I have to admit I really do like the Lindys.

Kathy - yay on the new car. Good thigs are hapenning for you. It is nice to hear good news.

Peachy love the Santa pic. So cute.
Kathy the port will keep your husband from turning into a human pin cushion and will make it easier to access. My DH had one put in last Jan and he still has it for his post chemo meds he receives every month. My heart goes out to you and I will keep your family in my prayers.
My heart and prayers go out to the people who lost loved ones in Ct. I Really can not imagine the loss they are feeling right now.

Gwynne another great swap. You are the hostess with the mostessBigGrin.

Hope everyone has a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Peachy~ Beautiful pic of Kiko! Love it! Love that tree.

My prayers are with all the families in CT that lost loved ones. Hopefully/prayerfully none of our MB sisters have been affected by this terrible tragedy. I can't even begin to imagine the horror that those families are going through!

Gwynne~ You know who and what you are and you have done your best to make this swap wonderful for all who have been a part of it. No worries! You are a fabulous hostess. Thank you for keeping things running smoothly and efficiently. Keep calm and craft on, sister!!! Thanks again for all you do and all you did to make this a successful swap!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday

~Rebecca

This was a really fun swap - Thank you Gwynne for letting me join as a first-timer... I knew the swap was in good hands when I saw your name on it :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday! I'm looking forward to the next round, but will have to see what the timing looks like before I join - My little guy is due March 28th, so I might be a little busy around Easter...Flapper

Merry Christmas Ladies... May lots of crafty goodies find their way under your trees next week!

Sorry you are having troubles getting the pictures off of your phone. THe reindeer is super cute.

Julie - a spring baby how wonderful.

Happy holidays to everyone. In case anyone missed my separate post....Gwynne is going to take over the all homemade swap for me starting this January. It's a great swap and she definitely will do a great job as hostess (as always). I will still be hosting the new swap - short and sweet - signups are up now. Thanks, Kel

Finally today I have some of my energy back after being sick! Lordy! I'm not used to being sick for more then a few hours....

Bridgette, that reindeer idea is adorable!

and Julie, the anticipation of your baby being born will surely help the winter fly by!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for a sucessful swap!

I'm not sure when the next SS swap will be but, like Kelley has indicated, I will be opening up the all home-made swap the beginning of January. It will be same as the Fall/Halloween where you make 3 items. It will not be secret sister though - you will know who your partner is. And it will probably have a quicker turnaround - like 6 weeks long.

The theme will be "chase the winter blues away!"

You will either be crafting in a "winter" theme or you will be crafting in "any shade of blue" theme, depending on the wishes of your partner. For example, a Florida swapper may want items in blue vs. a snowman or a snowy wintry scene....

So that's about all the info I have at this time.

I am going to be one busy little elf trying to figure out how to get ready for the holidays when I only have a couple days to do so! Never, ever have I been sick the week before Christmas! I am so far behind now!

So, I just want to take a moment today to say this:

I wish you all a very, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too!
