Vinyl and mirrors? Question from first-timer

Hi All,
I have never decorated with vinyl before. I want to decorate a mirror in my entry with some holiday decor. I ordered vinyl and it arrived today, but now I am wondering if it comes off a mirror easily without damaging the surface of the mirror? Anyone have any experience with this? I would so appreciate it if you shared your experience.

Vinyl works great on mirrors/glass, etc. and you will then be able to remove it easily without damaging the surface. Have fun with your vinyl. It can be addicting.

I have not had any issues with removing vinyl from windows or mirrors. You may have to clean some of the sticky reson from the mirror afterwards, but have not had it do any damage.

I use contact paper on my walls. No residue comes off it after several years of staying in place. I don't know about vinyl, though. It is a little heavier and there does seem to be a residue on the backing of most vinyl I've seen.

Not all vinyls are created equal! I personally use a product called Square 1 Masterpiece Here is their blog if you want to see projects from this product http://square1designs.blogspot.com/It is repositionable, so you can peel it off and not worry about ANY DAMAGE to any surface. It is GREAT for holiday decorations! Make the decorations, put them up for the holidays, then take them down and place them back onto the backing sheet (or a sheet of waxed paper) and then pack them away until you need them again next year!

OK, so when you put the vinyl on the mirror you need to give it a good squirt of water with a few drops of washing up liquid in it (do it flat!!). When you are happy with the placement of the vinyl squeegee out the water with a credit card or similar, holding the vinyl in place, this will also help stop the sticky backing from sticking permanently.
When you want to remove it heat it up gently with a hairdryer then scrape off (again) with a credit card or similar.
