I changed my email address (nothing else!) and now my messageboard identity has been reset and I've been told there's no way to restore the old one.  I had trouble changing the computer-generated name, and now I'm having trouble adding my blog link. And even though I've been here several years I'm now a "newbie". I feel like the victim of identity theft. I know there are much bigger problems in the world, but I'm still sad.

We all felt that way when we moved over from the old MB to the CIRCLE and new MBs a few years ago. We all went to zero posts. They did keep our date we first started, though. I hope you did get to keep that.....I didn't notice. If not, I would be doubly frustrated. It's nice knowing when you first started here without having to really think about it.
We'll look forward to lots of posts from you and watch you get back up to speed. I know you probably won't, but you can try.

Been there, done that! I had the very exact same problems when I recently changed internet providers and had to change my email address. I understand your pain!!!! I worked with Johnathan at Cricut Support and he helped me keep my board name, but I had to lose all the posts that I had..nearly 5000!!! He had to rename my older posts "MamaC2" and that let me start over as MamaC (my original board name). I hope that makes sense. MamaC2 is alive and well on the message board, but she will never be able to anwer any posts! She has become a 'ghost' poster!!  My Goggle Blog went through some changing 'pains', too! I had to share my screen with the techs at the new internet provider. The young man was finally able to get the email address changed on my blog, but it was 2 days of agony to get it done. I was so afraid that I was going to loose my blog!! To this day, I do not understand how the young man changed it, but I was so grateful for his help!! The internet office is near my home, I bought a big cake and took it by the office!! I hope you can get everything settled. Please know that I will be thinking of you and hoping for the best. If possible, call Cricut Support and ask to speak with Johnathan. I think he may remember MamaC!!

Thanks Char and MamaC! I did lose my start date, which is probably what hurt the most (silly, I know!) And of course I lost all the posts I had built up after losing those from the old board. I guess I just need to become a frequent poster!

So sorry this happened to you. I haven't had it happen here, but I've had it happen on another MB. It's a real bummer. It's funny how much those little numbers and titles mean to us. But when you work so hard to earn them, it stinks to lose all that hard work.
Thanks for the warning to the rest of us. I'll be sure to only change my info if I absolutely have to.

Happened to me too when I changed my email address. If I had known that was going to happen I would have just left the old address.  I feel you pain also. I joined in Aug 2006 & am now a newbie as well. You are right there are worse things that could happen but it is very frustrating to see all you stats vanish & nothing can be done about it. Poof!!!

Ladies, you are not alone. I had some computer problems and had to start over. I lost all my posts which I had joined in 2006 also. I should have well over 1,000 maybe close to 2,000. I enjoyed getting those little Cricut heads and was so disappointed to lose everything! I can't come on everyday, but try almost. I feel it could have been done with the experts they have.
