I just received a PM from M&KGrandma. She's been flat in bed for the past couple of days sick with flu. She got online long enough to update me.

Julie - she received your box and just opened it this morning and says everything is just wonderful and to thank you. She will try her best to have energy to take pics and post later tonight.

She hopes to mail her box out tomorrow - definitely won't be today.

Again, she apologizes for her tardiness but can't be helped.

***********

I just ran DC#s and NOTHING has updated from yesterday! I swear they must be holding all of our large boxes hostage. I'm hoping they will release them on Sat. and load on planes and mail quickly across the states! Monday should be an awesome day for revealing boxes!

So if you haven't mailed yet, I'd do my best to mail by Sat.

For those of you not mailing til next week....it will probably be 10 days before it gets delivered. And paying for priority mail is a waste of money. I don't think it's been on time for anyone yet in this swap that spent the extra money. If you are mailing next week, I'd consider mailing in 2 or 3 smaller boxes instead of one large box. The large boxes are just not moving.

Mine was something like 17 x 14 x 11 and it's not even updated to show where it arrived at since leaving my town. I feel like it's just sitting on a truck on a highway someplace....

and my box is not the only one just sitting... so mailing is a mess this week.

Hate to say it but it's not just the larger boxes either. I mailed 2 small pkgs last Sat; 1 to TN and 1 to PA. The one to TN finally arrived yesterday but the one to PA has been stuck in Philly for 3 days now. I worked in a catalog distribution ctr. for over 10 years; traditionally this is not a slow week for shipping. The layoffs and closings they did must be impacting service.

I was hoping that smaller pkgs. might have a better chance of moving faster, but guess not. And actually, Rebecca repacked hers into 3 boxes and hers hasn't moved yet either. Hers are all priority too!

SO I agree.....closures, reductions, etc. must really be impacting service this week. I wonder if maybe next week triggers a special xmas date that they might have better service? One can only hope....

I just checked numbers again and the two I was so sure would get delivered today as they are behind schedule still have not updated! Grrr! And they are on the east coast too! lol

But one slated for today actually just updated and is out for delivery on the west coast.

SO as of right now, that's only 1 box out of 4 possibilities that is now out for delivery.

Two of those other ones are priority but they did not move in priority pace! So frustrating!

So maybe we'll see pics late tonight yet! lol

Thanks for letting me know Gwynne! I'm glad it is safely in her hands.

Teri - I'm sorry you're so sick Confused I hope maybe your box lifted your spirits for a few minutes at least!

FYI for eveyone else - I'm not sure what Priority Mail cost everyone, but I opted to send mine FedEx 2-Day guarantee and it was right on time. It cost me $15 for a 9x13x5 box that weighted 5 pounds. If you're looking for a more efficient option, I just wanted to share. FedEx Ground is even cheaper, but I wanted the 2-day guarantee.

Can't wait to see more pictures!

Hi Ladies..

Wanted to share this info ... I have friend that works for the PO and she says that a reason why packages show no movement is that the packages don't always get scanned as they should at each stop along to their final destination. Hope this helpsBigGrin

Looking forward to seeing more packages and to hear how my SS liked her goodies.

Have a great weekend,
Ali

My mailman just came and brought me presents! Rebecca, I love everything and thank you so much for all the thought that went into it and the things for Isadora! She loves everything! He delivered two boxes but I am thinking you might have shipped in three? There were a few days missing so my guess is there is a third box out there traveling around some place! I will post picture of everything all together. Thank you!

Yes, there was 3. The one that I was hoping you would get first is the one you will be getting last. Says it's still in my state! So happy that you love everything. BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

Looking forward to you getting the other box!

Maybe tomorrow...Not sure because when I tracked just a few minutes ago it's not even been updated since the 5th!

My son texted me at work and said I have a big box waiting for me from Jennifer - Jen is that you??????? If so that was fast delivery. He said he opened and there where tons of wrapped boxes...He didn't open the boxes though. We have been getting a lot of a friend's (who is overseas)boxes shipped to us so we never know if it is for us or them. OOOOH it is for me he sent me a pic of all the wrapped packages. Drool Drats I still have 2 hours more and an hour commute. NO FAIR.Crying

ooops, I was going to come back from dinner and let Pamela know that a box is missing but I see I'm too late. I didn't want to ruin the surprise of a delivery so I was holding off until last minute.

Hopefully the 3rd box will show up soon!

Kimmo texted me a bit ago to say she was on her way to PO to see if they could tell her why her priority box that was to be delivered on the 5th still shows sitting in her state. Will be interesting to see if they can tell her anything.

I know they don't always scan all the packages, like Ali's friend explained...but still when a priority pkg. is 2 days late, with no movement showing, you have to think there is more to it then just the excuse that it wasn't scanned yet.

Anyway....Jen is the winner of this round for fast moving mail! lol She mailed Wed. from east coast and it hits the west coast today! I'm thinking that DH of hers must have slipped a hundred dollar bill to that PO worker on Wed.! lol

Actually, CoyoteKim's box to Jessica moved pretty fast too, but heck..that was only from CA to Utah - not coast to coast!

I look forward to seeing some pics later!

thank you for acknowledging your boxes, Pamela and Kelley.

Still waiting for AmyS and LindaKinkead to acknowledge receipt from yesterday. I always worry about stolen boxes this time of year so hope they pop on soon!

OMG OMG OMG OMG - NO DIBBS. I was truly spoiled by Jen. Love Love Love NO Dibbs Everything was beautiful, well made, thoughtful (you can tell that everything down to the paper and embellies were picked special for me), and just totally awesome.

I have a conference call tonight, but I will get pics posted tomorrow.

Wow Kelley that box got there fast. I checked the status today and it didn't show movement so I thought it might be delayed like some of the other boxes.

I am happy to hear every thing arrived safely. I tried to create items I thought you would like keeping your Q & A's and MQ in mind to make sure you would enjoy the items.

Pamela, your 3rd box will be delivered today.

Candy, your box passed thru Rochester at midnight so I imagine it will be at PO for you to pick up today. I'll confirm that if I see DC update later this morning.

JulieClawser and TiffanyHerrington - you should have had your boxes 2 days ago although it still has not updated to say that box has arrived at PO or anything to that nature. Do you want the DC so that you can go to your PO and inquire about it?

Julie - you are new to swapping with us and Tiffany has a PO box...so not sure if there is something going on with you two that I'm not aware of or what... I mean, Julie - do boxes normally get delivered to your front porch or are you in a complex of some sort where there is a notice lost?

and Tiffany - do you have a notice in your po box waiting on you? You also need to check in with me please about the mailing of your box to your SS. (Tiffany might be busy with finals this week or prep for finals?)

I'm home today changing my house into a Christmas Wonderland! So I will continue to monitor DC#s to see if anything updates.

Thanks for the update Gwynne.

No box for me yet. I don't have any special circumstances with packages being delivered to my house - I've been getting lots of packages delivered to my house every day, just not this one yet :) My mail lady is awesome - I know if it was on her truck, it would end up on my front porch.

Feel free to send me the DC# - I probably won't have time to run to the PO today, but I can on Monday if it hasn't arrived by then.

Now I'm really excited that my box will be coming soon!!!

Have a lovely weekend ladies!

thanks Julie for the reply. We'll wait and see what happens by Monday.

I just don't understand why the PO can't read our minds and already know and understand that we NEED these boxes yesterday! lol Don't they have any magic noses that can wiggle those boxes right to our front porches quickly??

Well the mail lady came and went, and so did the UPS guy... Still no swap package for me. I feel bad for whoever sent it to me... I know how nerve wracking it is waiting for the recipient to get these boxes in their hands! I'll cross my fingers that it shows up on Monday!
