well we have a oil furnace that seems to leave a real light residue on the walls, I've been through 3 pieces of vinyl trying to see what is wrong, I tried using windex on the paint which is laytex interior semi gloss, any ideas how to treat the walls to prep for the vinyl but not ruin or strip the paint
thanks

My dh is a handy man, he paints rooms a lot and always wash's the walls before painting. He uses 1 cup of amonia and 1 cup vinegar to 1 gallon of water. He said it will not strip the color off your walls, but should allow vinyl to adhere. Good luck, Camille
