I know if you buy the digital cart it will show up in CCR. But when using carts do you need to register it first in CCR? I am sure someone else will know the answer!

If it's borrowed and has been linked to a gypsy or to ccr by owner I dont think you can use it with the mini you will have to use a regular machine, I don't have mini but think that's how it works.

So glad for all the info I dont use ccr much so it's nice to know you can do this.

CCR should prompt you to insert the cart once you have finished your design and press the CUT button. Once you have inserted all the carts used in the design {when prompted by CCR} and they are recognized by CCR, your design should cut.

What Scrapalette said is right. Design with it in CCR and when you go to cut, put it into the machine / you'll be prompted if you forget. Then it'll cut away.

Like stated above it shouldn't be an issue if it's already linked to another accout or a G. I use carts that I have linked to my G with CCR all the time. Once you push cut it should prompt you to insert the cart(s), then it should cut. Sometimes it can take maybe 10-20 seconds or more to recognize the carts though.

Can the Mini be used with just the cartridge or do you have to use CCR?

You need CCR or a Gypsy to use the Mini. While the Mini does have the cart port, it doesn't have the keypad or the internal components to actually read the cart. It relies on CCR or the Gypsy for that.

Sandy - No, you don't have to register a cartridge to use it in CCR. You can use the FILTER at the bottom of CCR and go to ALL CARTRIDGES and pull that cartridge up so you can pull the images onto the mat. After you get all the images on the mat you want to cut, hit CUT. You will be prompted to insert the cartridge into the CRICUT machine.

HTH.
