Hoping someone can help me with a problem with cutting shadows. I have recently got the Cricut which came with two cartridges,. I loved the way it cut shadows so that say if the phrase was Happy birthday I could cut in one colour and then cut the same phrase slightly bigger just at the touch of a button.
I have now bought a couple more cartridges digitally and don't know how to use this same feature, can anyone help me out please ?

Hi!
Welcome to the world of Cricut.
Not all cartridges have a shadow or black out feature. Some cartridges have the feature all on one button, and you use the shift key to access one or the other.
For the digital cartridges, when you are in CCR look at the overlay tab to see if it says shadow.
Sometimes, people improvise and just cut an image larger to create a shadow.
Does this make sense?

Welcome and hope you enjoy the bug as much as I do. If I want a shadow affect and the image does not have that feature, I will "cut" my cricut markers first and then switch back to the blade and cut out the image. It will leave an outline that has a very similar affect. Here is an example on a layout I did. The Cruzn with Papa is lettes welded together using CCR and "cut" first using cricut marker and then switched to blade to cut out. The monkey and elephant were both done the same way in addition because they had detail lines, the markers drew them as well Edited by user Thursday, November 29, 2012 8:41:56 AM(UTC)
