Hi everyone;
just got home from a visit with mom. Made chili before I left, so that is supper for tonite. I'm out for supper tomorrow (a going away supper for a gal at work) and Tues., nite is bowling for Troy. Hopefully, there will be enough chili left for dh tomorrow and Tues. We've already celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada. I usually do the traditional turkey dinner though

BingoLady: welcome and good luck at bingo

Teri: welcome also to you. I can't help you with the rollers either, but I think PaperKrafter's idea might work.

Angie: hope Layla starts sleeping better for you. Glad your recipe swap went well. Hope your Pintrest party goes well tomorrow.

Nancy: way to go with your Christmas shopping. I've only got stocking stuff so far for some of my kids. Waiting for gift lists from them.

Debbie: hope you are able to find your teddy bear cart. Why are places not willing to ship to Australia? Hope your ds has a good trip and stays safe.

Better run, and get a bit more done before supper

Take care and welcome to all the newcomers.BigGrin

AlaskaKathy....I ride a road bike, not a mountain bike. I did 27 miles with our local bike club on Saturday. It was a lovely ride.

The breakfast went really well. Almost all the food was gone! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, we love having them over!

We saw Wreck it Ralph today and went to a hockey game tonight. I don't think we could have packed any more into this weekend!

For everyone, a very brief intro. My name is Sonya. I live in the midwest. I'm a SAHM to one 9 year old son. We are a very active family of cyclists. My husband has raced for years. My son has done kids events, but will hold a USA Cycling license as a junior class racer this upcoming year. I do not race, but I'm on the executive planning committee for a race held in our city in June and I ride with our local bike clubs for my health and because I love riding. I have a couple of Cricuts and an "other" machine, all which are equally loved and used. I also enjoy stamping and I feature a new card every day on my blog. I enjoy cooking, love shopping and reading, too. Oh, and I really, really love cheesecake. A lot. BigGrin

Yes, Joy, we got a hand written note on Saturday(our first!)...he said to send letters!!
He is at the USMC Parris Island, SC.

He has a great *bunk mate*. He said they keep each other in-check and help each other out!

He said he misses us all, but is hanging in there. I heard if he can make it through these three weeks...it will get better(home sickness wise)

I redid this list and added some new names to it...if you don't see you name PM me and I will add it. (give me you board name and first name, if they are different)

Morning, I wanted to go back and welcome all the new/old friends here!
I have a hard time keeping up with names, so its easier for me to make a list especially if you name is not your first name. I hope I got everyones right and if you share your first name I can add it to this list.

Hi everyone. We had our Thanksgiving dinner at church tonight and it was very nice. We had a nice turnout and they were expecting that maybe we wouldn't.

This Thanksgiving me, my DH, and DS's will be going to Nebraska to my married DS's house for Thanksgiving. It will be a little different. He will be cooking the turkey and we will be going to the in-laws for the dinner.

My son and his wife moved to Nebraska the day after they got married last year. Her sister and husband were there but her mother is here in Missouri where I live. Well we are all going up there for Thanksgiving so the DIL's sister is hosting the dinner. It will be an interesting holiday. The first of its kind and I hope very enjoyable. I am hoping to have lots of fun.

Being a MIL is a new experience for me and I want to be the best one I can be. I don't want to do anything to cause problems for my son or his wife. I love them both very much. I have seen MILs that are difficult and cause lots of problems for the family and I don't want to ever be one of those.

Kathy--It is good to hear from you. I haven't seen you on the MB in so long I wondered if you were ok or not.

I hope all you ladies have a great Thanksgiving. Enjoy all the good food and most of all your families.

Sharon, thanks for the info, I have never bought anything from Etsy so not sure how to go about it. That price is quite high though but will keep it in mind.

My understanding is that the ruling is coming from PC that onlines can't send to Australia - they are trying to enforce that we have to buy locally but the problem is that we get so overcharged that nobody will buy cartridges locally. I will just stop looking at new cartridges and stick to what I already own.

Well had an exciting day today, after work I went with DD to look at puppies BigGrin BigGrin we went to the RSPCA and the Pound but they did not have anything suitable and then we had a look at a pet shop and they had some really cute ones. So I might have my first four legged grandchild soon LOL. All the dogs are mixed breeds, from the RSPCA they start from $400 and from a pet shop they start from about $500 - I dread to think what you would pay for a purebreed!!! she really wants a puppy and also it has to get along well with Jet as I will have to dog sit whenever she is away etc and we think that Jet will take to a puppy easier than an older dog. Of course I would have liked to bring them all home LOL.

I don't think DS has any phone service where he is as I have not heard from him Crying I know that the coverage is not very good in that area.

My goodness, there was LOTS of reading to do this morning! I won't get everything commented on.

Hi AlaskaKathy!!!!! Good to see you. It has been a while!

Debbie, that sounds expensive for a puppy!

Angie, I would think that by now, Jamal KNOWS that he will have to pay extra every time he comes to the US. Flapper

Last week, Megan scolded me because I was listening to Christmas music on the radio. Well, guess who put her tree up yesterday!!!! Silly girl. She LOVES Christmas.

Megan and I are meeting her BFF this afternoon after school at the wedding dress store so her BFF can look at the dress.

We will have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, excpet for dessert. Thursday is my brother's birthday, and he is coming up from Phoenix tomorrow, so we will have birthday cake for dessert. Dinner (well, 5 p.m. cuz that was the best time for everyone) is at Megan's house but we will cook at my house. For you new ones, Megan, our midddle DD, lives right next door.)

Have a great day, all. I am sure that I will check back in.

And WELCOME to all you new chatters!!! Joy

Morning everyone!! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I did not get anything done on Saturday I set out to do.Mad Instead, one of my daughters came over and we went fabric shopping. I forgot I told her we would go. She needs 4 baby blanket sets for people at work that are expecting. So we went and picked out fabric for me to make the blankets and burp cloths. I embroider the baby's name on the blanket and then my friend hemstitches them for me so I can crochet around the edges. I have one I am doing as well. So I have 5 sets to get done along with other projects before we leave in 2 1/2 weeks for our cruise.

I saw some cards this weekend made from Snow Angels and Santa's Village. Well, I just had to have them and Santa's Village isn't cheap! But I splurged and got them. Probably won't come in time for this year, but maybe I will get inspired and do them early for next year! LOL!!

I always plan too much, don't get it done and then SAY I'm going to work on stuff during the year. But I am so sick of Christmas stuff, I never do.

SANDRA Chili sounds good! My husband can't eat it anymore, so it is rare I fix it, but I sure like it.

LUV2SCRAP02 You are lucky to get to watch your baby everyday! I love my GS to come over. He is 18 months, this week, and so fun! Each new stage is a lot of fun.

Hope everyone has a productive day!

Had to go for mammo and lab work this am. Having my first physical the end of this month.

Our family has been invited to our son-in-law's grandma's home for Thanksgiving.
I am in charge of bringing pies. Thinking a pumpkin, an apple and a pecan.(DH's fave)
Its going to be a hard Thanksgiving without our Marine Recruit!

Hope to get to some crafting later this weekend....the rest of our kids are going camping till Sunday night!

Debbie, that does sound expensive for a puppy! We have been browsing online & looking at purebread bichon or poodle puppies (as DH has allergies, so has to be a purebread, not mixed breed). Seeing around $400+ for those puppies. Some are around $400-$500, others that come from a pedigree fancy family line of show dogs are going for closer to $1000. If & when we get a puppy it would just be for a family dog, not to show, so we would probably get one at the cheaper end around $400-$500.

Cathleen, I am also a CTMH consultant! Whereabouts do you live?

I think most people on this thread have the CTMH Artiste cartridge and/or the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge already. But if not then feel free to contact me too. I can get it delivered to my house, gift wrap it & remail it back out to whomever. Or it can get shipped directly to you (with no gift wrap). You can PM me or e-mail me at NJsharon@hotmail.com.

Today was an easy day. My student was in school, yay! So I was with the kindergarten class all day... well, half a day today. We had to do testing with them, which was interesting. LOL Some were falling behind, so as well as helping my student I was running around to others helping them to play catch up & follow the directions. So tough for such little kids to do these tests. I think they have a math test to do tomorrow too.

Was so nice to finish early though & be home to relax! Emily has gymnastics later, other than that I am just relaxing the rest of the day!

Oh & my local radio has started to playing Christmas music already, so I have been listening to that in the car. I love Christmas time & love getting ready for it! Paul, my husband, has banned any Christmas music though, until after Thankgsiving, so have to change the channel when he is in the car! The girls know that as soon as Daddy gets out of the car we switch to Christmas music again. LOL

DH is home with me all week! We went out to lunch, did a little Christmas shopping and then he went to basketball practice with DS. Nice to have him around. He pushes me extra hard at the gym, so I got a great workout this morning. We'll ride with the bike club tomorrow, should be cool, but pleasant for a ride.

Hello everyone!
A productive day at work and Girl Guides done for the day. Supper in the oven, will peel potatoes right away, so I've got a minute for my cricut friends.
Thanksgiving has come and gone at our house. But I just might do round two in honour of my American friends. Who can say now to a turkey/ham meal with all the fixings?! We had turkey last, so maybe a nice bone in ham. Sometimes I slooooow bake it with root beer. Very yummy!
Sharon YAY to being back in "your" class. Must feel like coming home. Have things smoothed out with the regular teacher coming back.
Angie I've been watching/listening to all that is happening in your corner of the world. Praying for your family's safety!
JeanneLee awww the joys of taking care of ourselves! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do though, eh?
Shelly Aren't you the crafty one! You certainly know how to do a lot of different things. The blankets and burp cloths sound wonderful!
Joy The week of Halloween, I found the Christmas channel on satelite. We made a family decree not to turn it on until after Remembrance Day (Nov 11), but have been so busy since we haven't turned it on. But we will! The tree by tradition waits until at least Dec 1st.
To everyone else "Hello" *waves
Take care
Laura

This is really annoying. I tried to log in about a dozen times using internet explorer (what I normally sign in with) & it wouldn't work. Had to use Mozilla Firefox to sign in. Grrr!

Wanted to post one photo of one of my girls. This is a sneak peak that the photographer posted, of Emily.

Makes me excited to see the rest. I really liked the photographer & can't wait to see the other pics!

Just a quick hello, have a busy day ahead of me and a trip to the dentist which I am not looking foward to :(

Apparently the reasoning why dogs and puppies are so expensive here is that they feel if you pay a lot for one then you must really want it and it will have a good home. Unfortunately that is still not the case, there are a lot of people who have more money than common sense :( the RSPCA told us that they have a list of over 300 dogs waiting to be admitted for assessment so that they could try and find them new homes. DD really wants a puppy. I will find this all very interesting, I think how the puppy is brought up will be a good indicator as to how my future grandchildren will be brought upLOL LOL LOL. When we moved here the price of pets was one of my biggest shocks, the other thing that I was really shocked at was the price of cut flowers, a bunch of ordinary flowers at a supermarket is $20+ we won't even talk about florist prices Huh It is amazing how prices vary from country to country.

Good evening everyone, had quite the day here because our water heater pooped out & leaked all over our basement floor! Yuck wet, wet! My dh & ds spent quite a few hours down in the basement getting the new water heater hook up this afternoon.
I guess I'm not surprised that the water heater went out on us because it was about 20+ years old. I was on pins & needles watching my dh & ds hauling the old WH up the basement stairs.Blushing Crying those things are heavy & big.
Anyway dh took the water heater tank out to our local waste site which also has a section for scrap metal & they gave him a check for $22.00, I was surprised, thought he'd have to pay to get rid of it.

I'm glad I didn't have to wait a couple days before getting the new water heater hooked up etc. I was going bonkers just those 6+ hours without water...

Makes me think of all the poor people out on the East coast who have no homes, let alone water etc. I should be ashamed worrying about not having water for one day.

Hi- from the Pacific Northwest.. i'm in Everett, WA which is just a little north of Seattle. Today.. it's raining.. no surprise of course..lol It's mother natures payback for 80 blissful days of no rain this last summer.

I started scrapbooking about 7 yrs ago. The company I worked for sold and moved everything to Canada- so my husband told me to get a hobby to keep myself busy.. little did he know what I was getting into.

I have 2 kids, my son (20) and my DD (12). I'm also a Girl Scout leader for the last 6 yrs. I love the girls in my troop. They are my little extended family. I'm also an ATA mom- (american Taekwondo association) my DD has been taking lessons for almost 2 years- so when i have time inbetween working, girl scouts, and TKD classes and competitions, i will try to squeeze in time for scrapping.

I've recently discovered Smash books.. love them.. it's my quick fix when i want to scrap but don't have a ton of time to make my pages look organized and pretty.

I also have 2 chihuahuas that are currently snuggled on my lap. They are my crazy little redheads (Izzy & Lucy)

Morning, I wanted to go back and welcome all the new/old friends here!
I have a hard time keeping up with names, so its easier for me to make a list especially if you name is not your first name. I hope I got everyones right and if you share your first name I can add it to this list.

I was so proud of myself that I finished all my Christmas cards, signed sealed and stamps and then i remembered i forgot to take pictures. I only have 1 style of the kids cards I will take a photo and upload it.

Waiting for little one to take a nap ...

Welcome all the newbies...

JeanneLee.. thanks for updating the names of everyone...BigGrin

Debbie those prices for cartridges are crazy... Acutally flowers in a supermarket go for 19.99 and over in a Florist (flower shoppe) you are talking anywhere from 39.99 and up.

usually Valentines day the flowers sky rocket to over 100.00 a bouquet

Debbie if you want tell me what bears you want and I will cut them out for you and the outfits

Hi.

Janis, wow, 20 years for a water heater! Around here, our water is so hard, we hope for 10 years. DD bought her house in May, with a warranty which would cover a new water. Hers is 10 years old, so we are hoping it goes out before May!!!

Shelly, thanks for the info on Santa's Village. I just may break down and - gasp - buy it digitally and use CCR. I DO NOT want to, as I don't want to be tied to my computer, but since it is Christmas, it won't get every day use.

Sharon, cute teaser picture!

That's OK, Nancy. I usually get my cards mailed out before I think of taking a picture.

Up at 4:15 this morning for prayer time at 5 a.m., then straight to the city to DH's neices house where his sister is hanging out till after Christmas for breakfast. Had someone look at our car. DH wouldn't mind selling it. Then to the airport to pick up my brother and his granddaughter, and finally back home. Just in time. There is a rainstorm on the horizen.

Megan got her dress yesterday! Two dresses in three days. I think we are doing pretty good!!!
