I am new to this forum and in need of a little help. I have had my cricut for over 3 years and just pulling it out to create. I really want to creat vinyl projects like the cups, cake carriers and glass blocks to name a few. Can someone please tell me if I will have to buy all those different font cartridges just to get a nice font for a cup????? i have a few cartridges now but I don't think they are good font cartridges. I DO NOT have SCAL so that is out the question. I really don't know what would be a good font judging by the pics in the books. Also, if I link my cartridges to CCR, will I not be able to use them in my Cricut or any other Cricut?

For the fonts, go to Narelle's blog and download her Cricut Font Reference Guide. She has a sample of every Cricut font to show what they look like and what cart they are on. http://myfaqcricutds.blo...ts-list-updated-for.htmlAnd, if you link your carts to CCR, you can still use them in any Cricut by plugging them in the cart port. Linking them to CCR {which is actually linking them through CCR to your cricut.com account} allows you to cut from CCR without having to insert the cart each time, but it does not affect the way the cart works. There is a free font in Cricut Craft Room called "Cricut Craft Room Basics".
Just thought I'd let you know if you don't allready.

Lots of cartridges have a font, I don't own many carts but of the ones I have A Child's Year, Day At The Beach, and George all have fonts. I think Child's Year has a monogram font (a letter cut out of a scalloped oval), as well as a lowercase and capital letter.

My machine came with 2 cartridges that both had fonts, but like you I wanted to do mugs and other things with a nicer font....I bought the Calligraphy collection cartridge and it not only has different fonts but lots of different phrases as well such as ...Merry Christmas, Oh Baby!, get well soon, Be my Valentine...and others.
