Good morning ladies!
A wintery day here in northern Saskatchewan! And wouldn't you know it, Skooter (our little dog) has been escaping every couple of hours. I can't figure out where or how as there are too many little footprints in the snow. The fence is over 6 feet tall in most places. I am sure he must be part monkey or bird.
I need a bit of advice - I think I know the answer, but I want to hear other opinions. Several months ago, someone from the board pm'd me noticing I had posted about a nearby city. She is from the area and understands the limitations of getting carts up here. We pm'd back and forth and she offered to pick up some clearance carts for me and send them to me. I thought it was a wonderful thing to do. She gave me a price and everything and then she disappeared until last night. I had not sent money becuase I was waiting to hear that they had been sent, so I could add postage for her. When she dropped away, I did check on her profile and she was not on here at all during that time. But did find she has a track record of being a flaker - her commitment eventually is fulfilled, but takes forever. So . . . She pm'd me last night and is asking if I still want the carts. I do, but I'm worried about paying out and never seeing them. What do you guys think?
Jeanne Thaks for making up the list. It is truly helpfule.
Angie I have been thinking about you and hoped all was well. Prayers that you and your family remain safe. As far as the Thanksgiving meal, if I were a lot closer, I would sure help out!
Sonja Thanks for both recipes! I have a tiny family, so I will try to cut the recipes down for us!
Debbie $22 for a stamp - WOW! It sure doesn't sound like any bargains there
Joy a snail?! Kind of neat, but kind of yucky too. My DD used to bring bugs in. She would pick them off the grill of the vehicles and try to heal them. She said she wanted to be a bug doctor, because no one cares about them.
Deneen I am glad I am far from scraps because I am sure I would always buy more than I meant too.
Oh I forgot to mention - in the Canadian, bargains, eh of the message board we have started our second Canadian swap. Come have a look if you might be interested. A few of us found postage got to be a bit silly with the swaps originating in the States.
Have a great day!
Laura

Laura, just my opinion, but I would not give the other member any money & tell her you are no longer interested. I would be too worried she was going to take the money & run.

Angie, so glad you are okay. That does sound scary. Hope you manage to stay safe & there is peace soon.

I always say about my girls (who are 7yrs old now) that it becomes more fun each year, as I can do more with them. But I also do miss them being about 2yrs old sometimes & toddling around with really cute outfits on. Now they are so independent already that I barely get a say in the clothes they wear!

We went & got photos taken at a Christmas Tree Farm this morning. That was fun & I think the lady got some good photos. Can't wait to see them already!

Laura, I agree with the others. I would be careful of this person. It is sad that this kind of thing happens.

Sharon, if there is a way, I would love to see at least one of the pics you had taken.

And YES! We found a dress. Actually, I think we found two, but we only bought one.

Kate found one that looks just beautiful on her. She is not small, and the one we got is so very flattering to her figure. It gives her a gorgeous hourglass shape. It is ivory in color, beaded/pearled lacey top, with lace flowers that have pearls on them all over the skirt, and a nice train. And the price was less than half of what we were looking at in the city. Really, almost 1/3 the price. I am so glad she decided to get it. Jordan won't even touch the bag! He is so cute.

Megan was not going to try any on, but then she did. And I really think she found her dress too. But she can't make fast decisions to save her life. Except to get engaged. But the dress she has picked out is so her. She is tiny, so anything would work (well, almost anything - she tried on one that was awful) but I hope she gets this one. It is just right for her. Ivory also, lace up the back, beads and rhinesones round the top of the bodice, and an adorable back/bustle with a nice long train. She even called her future mother-in-law to come and look at it. The lady works just across town. It is on hold. She wants her BFF to meet her at the shop Monday after work to look at it with her.

Because of their fair coloring, I really liked them both in ivory better than pure white. I don't know if you call it ivory or antique white. Just a touch off of white, but still really light.

Hi everyone... Didn't have a very productive day because I didn't feel very well. I did take a 3 hour nap.

Sandra...I got that email too. I Amy have to place an order. I am waiting to see who else is having a good sale.

Shelly...sounds like a cute book for your grandson. Show us pics when it's finished. Good luck getting the stockings done.

LarmAbee.....I wouldn't take the chance on having to chase her down to get your carts.

Lv2....that breakfast sounds so good. I can't eat wheat but it still sounds good.

Joy....how exciting finding the dress.

Hope everyone has a great night.

Fun! My name is Kathy, I have lived in Alaska for 42 years this past June! I bought my first cricut from QVC when they did the launch in December 2006. Then I bought my E in December of 2007 and also bought Design Studio. I got the gypsy when it launched on HSN in September of 2009 and never even knew there was this place until I tried using my gypsy the first time (near the end of Septmber 2009) so somehow I found the mb and asked for help and I got a lot! Then I decided to join. I have no idea why never found out about the mb almost 3 years after buying the baby bug from QVC! LOL! I to am retired from my job that I had for 18 1/2 years, but not by choice. I had a wc injury, had surgery, something went wrong and I can't lift my right arm, no internal or external rotation and daily pain. I love to do all types of crafts, shoulder permitting! I do mosaics, make jewelry, crochet, paper crafting and my big old yellow lab named Mickey! Some of you might remember seeing layouts of him, he such a ham for the camera! LOL! I will admit this is the most unproductive year I have had in a long time!! I'm hoping that will change soon!

Your granddaughter is adorable in the pumpkin patch!

Hi girls....beautiful, chilly fall day here. I did a 27 mile bike ride today that ended with pumpkin pie and other yummy snacks. It was a "hosted" ride, and it was a great day for it. Started out and it was 41 degrees, but I stayed warm in my gear. My friend and I then got cleaned up and visited a new winery nearby....super fun girls day!

I have 20 people now coming for our bike team breakfast ride tomorrow. I have the casseroles made and those will bake in the morning. I have muffins made and will have fresh fruit to cut up in the morning, too. Will also do sausages. And lots and lots of coffee! Same friend I rode with is coming over to help me prep food in the morning. So thankful for helpful friends.

Needless to say, I didn't craft at all today....but it was a great day!

WOW! You had a busy day! Are you doing mountain biking? All that food you are making, I'm so hungry now, what is the time difference between where we live? Would I make it there in time for breakfast? LOL!

Hi everyone;
Busy day today; shopping, housecleaning and a hockey game. Got an order of vinyl from here yesterday. Cut out a hockey player to put on Troy's breathing machine.BigGrin

Laura: I sure wouldn't give that gal any money, hopefully you can find them somewhere else. Check out cartridgesandmore.com they have some good black friday deals on all week.

Debbie: glad you were able to find a few things at the swap. $22.00 for a used stamp is a bit high though.

Joy: glad your girls found their dresses, hope your dinner went well

Sonja: Wow, that was some bike ride! Hope your breakfast goes well, sounds yummy

Kathy: welcome, feel free to jump in any time. We always like to hear from some new cricuteers

w3ndy: welcome to you also, I agree those are 2 really cute carts.

Shelly: that book sounds adoreable. Look forward to seeing the finished product. Good luck with the stockings

Deneen: hope you are feeling better. I'm still debating on what carts to order, have a few in mind.

Sharon: look forward to seeing a pic of your family. We are getting family pics done when dd & s-i-l are home for Christmas.

Whew, hope I didn't miss anyone...if I did I'm sorry.

Take care everyone.BigGrin BigGrin

Joy, how exciting to have found at least one, possibly two wedding dressesBigGrin When you saw them in them did it bring a tear to your eye? I know that I would probably be in tears but then it does not take that much to trigger me LOL.

DS is busy packing, he is going away with friends for leavers (you call it spring break) he has a nice, responsible group of friends but honestly, I will be pleased when he is home!!!

I have been looking for Teddy Bear Parade but can't find it at any of the onlines, has anybody seen it around? It is one that I really want to get and I need to find it soon as they are going to stop the onlines sending cartridges to Australia. That will mean that we will only be able to buy them locally and I can assure you that I will not be paying $140 for a cartridge which is what they sell them here for.

The air con has been on LOL, I am so not ready for hot weather yet.

I know it will bring a tear to my eye if or when the girls get married! That is great you found one possibly 2 dresses.

What is everyone serving for Thanksgiving Dinner? Are you traditional or do you serve something that isn't the norm?

We are very traditional here. Turkey with homemade stuffing inside, turkey gravey (buy the heniz jars, we seem to like it best), green bean casserole, canned corn, baby potatoes roasted with olive oil & fresh rosemary & baked sweet potatoes (we buy them from the local amish market).

Will also pick up a pie for dessert from the amish market too.
Serve it with either vanilla ice cream or English warm custard.

Debbie, I found someone selling Teddy Bear Parade on Etsy for $58.50 plus shipping ($17.95 for Australia I think). Not sure if you are willing to pay that much though?

Hello everyone!
Joy- Kate's dress sounds beautiful. I can't imagine getting ready for two weddings!

Deneen- Hope you are feeling better.

Alaska Kathy I'm sorry to her of your injury it sounds painful! How long ago was this? Since I'm a Kathy too I hope we don't get posts confused lol.

W3ndy-Welcome!

Sandra- Sounds like a cute idea to cut that hockey player out of vinyl. I used that hockey player on a scrapbook page once and really liked it.

Debbie- My dd went on a trip for spring break with four friends, so I know how you feel. These were good responsible kids but I sure felt better when she got home. I did tell her to text me anything (even just hi) while she was gone, just to ease my mind.

Sharon- we are having a traditional dinner here; Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, broccoli casserole, home made rolls, pumpkin pie.

I am working on a chipboard door hangar for Christmas. I've never used chipboard before. I glued it together with hot glue. I hope it will stay. Does anyone have anything else they use to glue 8" chipboard letters together?

Can't play with my cricut much this week, I must get some cleaning done!

Take care everyone,Kathy (in Colo.)

Hello everyone
I felt the same as most of you did about the woman with the offered carts. I didn't feel comfortable with it. I have let her know. Thanks for your input
Joy How wonderful to find 2 dresses so quickly! I know dress shopping can be quite a trial.
Deneen Hope you feel better soon. You must have needed the rest if you slept for 3 hours!
Sonja Hope the weather was good for your ride. I think it is wonderful how you are so busy with an active activity!
Debbie I will think about ordering the carts online. The woman had claimed to get them for $7 a piece on clearance at walmart. They weren't anything I was in a panic for, but at that price . . . tee hee
Talk to you all soon

Welcome to the new people ....

Joy.......... I am so happy they found their dresses. They sound so prettyBigGrin
My DD Patty also had a Ivory gown
How exciting did you find a dress for yourself???

Sonya.. that is a whole lot of bike riding. I am sure everyone enjoyed their breakfast

I am on the go today I finished all my Christmas shopping for DH he wanted a new phone easy to operate one that was easy then i decided to upgrade my new phone to something better... now to learn how to use this one

finished all the grand kids. it is hard shopping for DH grandchildren because we have to ship everything so DH said keep the toys at a min. get them clothes. These kids have so many toys even my step son said 1 toy for each of them I bought 2 toys each and clothes.

Miss Abigail on the other hand weighed in at 14 lbs 10 oz. they said she will be petite we are all tall where did that come from!!!!

I bought her some toys and lots of clothes now we are on 6-9 months since she has so many 6 months old clothes.

My DD and her DH wants a 40 inch flat screen TV for their den which will be Abigail play room eventually.

So I felt good today getting so much accomplished.

I told DH I don't need anything and he really didn't need anything so the phones will be our presents to each other.

We feel we buy anything we want all year long and now really don't need anything.. I did see a new perfumeBigGrin so Santa will get me that I am sure since DH loved it

Good evening, well it's evening here. Busy day today. I had the recipe swap today. That was fun, then Jamal invited a co-worker who is visiting from Bangkom over for dinner, I made Veg. Lasagna. I was thinking of you Nancy, It was really good, I'll make it again. Then tomorrow I'm having a Thanksgiving/Birthday Party for 2 ladies/Pintest Party here at my house. The idea was to make something food and something crafty from pintrest for the party. I just started on my craft. I wish I would have put more effort into it. Oh well, I'm exhausted!

We're having trouble getting Layla to sleep. No naps, and she won't go to bed before 12:00 midnight. Last night she stayed up until 2 am before she decided to stay asleep. She would sleep off and on. Grrr.

Nancy you're doing so great getting your shopping started already. I just did some online shopping, Jamal is going to Washington DC at the end of the week for a cinference for 2 weeks. I hope he plans on paying for an overweight suitcase. Mt freind here has a sister in Virgina that I shipped to and then she'll drive it down to Jamal. I'm so excited. I bought more paper. We can never have too much paper right?

Joy that's so cool you guys found 2 dresses. Ivory is so pretty for wedding dresses, very classic. Can't wait to hear all the details of the planning.

Sonya have fun at your breakfast! Your recipes sound delicious. I'll def. try the french toast one. We don't eat pork so the other one is out for us.

Well, better go get back to my craft pintrest project.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Teri and I live just outside of Houston, Texas. I'm still a newbie with my Cricut, have had it only a month or so, and am brand new to this board. I'm not much of a chatter/poster, but I do have a question about the rollers on the machine and am hoping someone can shed a little light my way. Smile

I'm working with foam sheets for Christmas projects and am having some issues. I bought the deep cut blade and after some trial and error, figured out how to get cleaner cuts out of the foam. I'll keep tweaking, but, my question is about the rollers on the machine which move the cutting mat back and forth. Is there a way to adjust them as well? I'm getting roller marks in the foam and right through my project pieces. I'm hoping to adjust them up so there's less pressure. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Or can anyone make any suggestions? Hope this makes sense! LOL

Thank so much in advance!!

Teri

Hello Teri, sorry I can't help you with the rollers question. I don't think you can adjust the rollers though. I have an uncle that lives just outsdie of Houston too. He lives in Pasadena TX.

Quick Holiday snack recipe
I am an activity director for an independent living facility. We have parties all the time so I am always coming up with new treats.
Super fast snack that was a huge hit

I used one loaf of the tiny 2 1/2" square rye party loaves ==Available at grocery
a tub of stawberry /or garden vegetable flavored soft cream chesse
8 oz pkg of Kraft Taco flavored shredded cheese

All you need to do is spread the rye bread with the cream cheese,
then having the taco flavor shredded cheese in a bowl
You flip the bread upside down and dip and press the cream cheese top into the shredded cheese
I use gloves of course, then take them out and lay them out on a nice platter in neat rows.
Easy peasy and it was a huge hit, The taco taste with the garden vegetable or strawberry cream cheese was a HUGE HIT and oh is it ever good.
Just something I came up with.

Teri, If you have a machine that has the FLIP feature why not flip your cuts then the roller marks would be on the back............and not show.

A wintery day here in northern Saskatchewan! And wouldn't you know it, Skooter (our little dog) has been escaping every couple of hours.
Laura

Hi Laura,

Why not wait until she sends the items, get a tracking number from her & the total with shipping. Then once you have confirmation that it's been shipped, you send her the money.
Then again I'm thinking, is she going to go for that? hmm?
Normally a company won't charge your credit card or cash your check until your products have been shipped, but this is a single person, not a company, right?
I'm not sure what to say, I hope it all works out.

Hello everyone, I'm Janis & need to change my name on here from ~JD~ to Janis {one of these days}. I live way up in the Upper Penninsula of MI. Beautiful up here. :) I have two grown daughters & one teen son living at home.
I been crafting forever it seems & I'm totally addicted to this board as much as I am to my Cricuts. I join the cricut.com site in 2006 & am here off & on it seems. Something always attracts me back here & I figure it's the cricut & all you great people here.

I noticed a recipe & had to copy it, it's the French Toast one, but I didn't see how many it feeds? Anyone know?
Well, I will try to keep up with you gals here when time permits. :) I want to say there are so many awesome people here & I love it.

I'm watching for more recipes. :)

Sharon, Pasadena is about 20 minutes from me. I'll say hi to your uncle next time I drive through! BigGrin

And, PaperKrafter4life, I thought about flipping it over, but I found I can rub out the marks. Doesn't disappear totally, but worked well enough on the first project. Mmmmmm, maybe I'll just start using the flip function. LOL Thanks so much for the great idea!! WHOOHOOO!! Woot (Love these little cricut dudes!)
