Yes, having similar problem. It downloads & updates, but WILL NOT "INITIALIZE". The INITIALIZE screen just remains perpetually online (even overnight!), but it does NOT initialize.

I've tried several times to open the program and it gets stuck on initialization or I get this message: CCRBridge.exe has stopped working. And my only choice is to close the program. Does anyone have an answer? Very frustrating.

I've been told to add Cricutsync.exe and CCbridge.ex to my anti-virus and firewall....still not working. Been trying for two months....thinking of selling my birthday present, Expression 2, and going back to doing things by hand!

I have been having exactly the same problem - craft room stuck on initializing. I had no problems running it on my windows 7 laptop and PC, but can't get it to work on new laptop, which is windows 8, so I'm guessing it's something to do with the OS. I have emailed cricut, so hope I get an answer soon. Will post on here if I get solution.

I did initially have problems with my windows 8, but eventually via one of these forums I was told to download by using Windows 7 compatibility mode and to tick the run as administrator mode. That worked for me, hopefully it will help someone else. Does anyone have any problems purchasing at the minute, I am wanting to buy some of the Christmas card templates from this page http://uk.cricut.com/sho.../products-Cards-712.aspx but it won't let me view large and when I click to buy the digital image it just brings up a runtime error, it seems to let me put any other cartridgs in my basket though !
