A few nights ago, I made these Thanksgiving-themed trivets (coasters). I used 4x4" ceramic tiles and outdoor vinyl with the Thanksgiving cartridge. I know they work great because I made some with a different design about a year or two ago and I love them. I use them all the time! I'm hoping to sell them for $5/each or 4/$20. I've posted it on Facebook (on my own page and also on a home-based business page) but I haven't had anybody show an interest yet (except for a couple of friends' "likes"). I'm also considering getting a table at a craft fair. I plan to design some drinking glasses and also some Christmas-themed trivets too, but don't want to waste my time and money. I've tried to sell other items in the past without much luck either. So I need your thoughts and input: Do you think these would sell? Do they look nice/attractive? Is the suggested price okay? Am I just being impatient or am I just not reaching the right people? Any suggestions would help... Thanks!

I think you did an awesome job on these. Who knows what anyone is looking for on a particular day. I think it would be so hard to guess. I would make a bigger variety of things and then you can learn from that what sells and what doesn't in your area. Good luck!

They look great! For a set of four, I think I would reduce the price a little. Good luck with you sales.

I think your coasters are lovely but over-priced.

Thanks for all of your input. Would $3.50 each or 4/$12 be a better price?

I would sell in sets of 4 for a price of 8.00 you are still recouping your costs and making a little profit. I use the 35% rule when I sell anything and that is 35% over what my actual costs are plus 35%. HTH

Very nice. I do agree that your price is too high. If you plan on selling individually and in multiples for the same product, the price should not be the same. For example:
1 = $5.00 4 = $20.00
That come out to be the same price. The bundle should be less so people see a value in buying all 4 instead of just 1. So if:
1 = $5.00 then 4 = $15.00 (just an example using your original costs)

I intended to say 1 = $5, 4 = $16, but for some reason I must have not been thinking straight when I did this post. However, I've since brought the price down quite a bit but still haven't had any luck with these. Since Thanksgiving is almost come and gone already, I have decided to set them aside (to use as gifts or maybe try again next year) and move on. Thanks again for the info. Hopefully, the design is nice that people will show an interest in the future.

I think that they are absolutly beautiful. As others have said it is hard to plan what may sell that day. I have worked craft fairs for a couple years now and when I try to think of what people may want I almost never sell that.
My suggestion make some over the winter and then sell them in next year's craft fairs. Which usually start around April and May then go through December. I sell cards at fairs but I have decided to expand into my other crafting projects too.
HTH
