My computer has crashed. I'm going to need to replace it. However, the new computers have Windows 8 as their operating system. Some don't even have a CD/DVD drive.
Will I be able to run DesignStudio with Windows 8?
Will I need to have a CD drive or will I be able to download everything and just put my serial number in?

Thanks! I don't know whether DS works with Windows 8 or not. Maybe you'll be the first to find out! As for installing DS, you won't need a cd drive as you'll be downloading the latest version from http://mirror.cricut.com/cds/fontpack/CDS_10404220.exe(The version on your DS cd definitely won't work with Windows 8) Once you have installed DS on your new computer it will probably be in trial mode. If so you'll need to give PC a call so they can deactivate the serial number from your old computer. You'll then be able to activate it on the new one.

I already sent an email to Provo craft to get my Design Studio undone from my old computer. I had the blue screen of death so I had to get a new one. I thought I was getting windows 7 and when I went to put it all together and work on starting it up I was shocked to see Windows 8. GRRRR. so many issues with windows 8 right now. Funny I got a very very old program on it with no trouble at all and I have tons of issues with Design studio. My Cd in any version won't work on this computer. So I am going to try this download and I will let you know tonight if it worked. Can't wait to get my new number so I can play again.
I think it will take some getting use to because when you go on you are not the administrator you have to do some programming to get yourself to be administrator and then you are only that for that session until computer goes off. IT sucks. There has to be a way to stay the administrator of my computer after all it is MINE. lol.

I have tried to download the Design Studio to my laptop that has Windows 8 and it won't do it. any advice?!
