Hi,
I have a bunch of cut files on my blog and people ask me if the Design Studio cut files can be used in the Gypsy and vice versa. I would like to be able to answer that question.
Are they "universal"?
Thanks so much! Heather

they are sort of universal but not really. .cut files can only be used in Design Studio. Only .gypsy files can be used in the gypsy. The full (paid) version of design studio lets you convert .cut files to .gypsy however some files don't convert properly and when you try to cut them on the gypsy they send the user back to the welcome screen.

When you save the file, use the drop down box to choose the type of file, either cut or gypsy. I have found DS does not save gypsy files very well. And I have found that opening gypsy files in DS, that the files change. You can't convert or open Gypsy files unless you have the full version. OK I have a full version of Design Studio and I also have the Gypsy. I have several questions. #1 can I use any .cut file in the Design Studio or just ones that were designed in the Design Studio? #2 Anyone know if we will ever get to syn our Gypsy in Craft Room? Stupid ME I put all my cartridges on the Gypsy because when I travel I can not haul all my cartridges. Soooo any news on the Gypsy / Craft Room front?
