Ooohhh, I'm so mad!!!Angry I am making 70 vinyl tiles for a church function this Thursday evening. I ordered the vinyl over a week ago. It is only from a place about 35 miles away from my house, but because of car issues I had it shipped. Got a noticed that it had been shipped with a tracking number and said it would be here on the 8th. Figured that would give me plenty of time. Didn't come that day. Didn't come on the 9th, so I looked at the tracking again and it had been logge into the Denver sorting station,(something like that, whatever they call the post office place) the morning of the 9th! It has left there, but today is Veterans Day so no mail! I so hope it comes tomorrow! Can't believe it had to go to a whole other state (I live in Utah) to get to me. I could have walked there and back. No wonder the USPS is having financial problems!! No one uses them cuz their shipping is awful.

Sorry for my rant, but I am so frustrated. I have so much to do for this function this week, I needed to get it done over the weekend. Thanks for letting me vent.

Our oldest DD used to sell Stampin Up.

When she started, the orders came in just a few days. We probably live like 8 hours from SU.

Then UPS changed their shipping.

The orders went within a few miles of our house 100 miles north, then back down. It added like two days to our shipments!

It is snowing. Yuck. I am not ready for snow.

Hi everyone;
Enjoying my first day off...even managed a bit of a sleep inLOL! Pretty cool and dull looking out here today, maybe the sun will come out later.

Shelly: hope your vinyl shows up tomorrow. Sometimes I get stuff shipped to me faster from shops in the states than shops in Canada. I usually order from Cricut.com or Scrapbook.com. (though the shipping can be expensive). Otherwise I try to get what I need at the shops close by...the closest being 1/2 hours away.

Joy: glad you enjoyed meeting Jordan's parents. Your weather sounds the same as ours, though no more snow in the forecast for a few days at leastBigGrin! Good luck with the wedding invites.

Nancy: hope you have a nice walk with baby

Southgirl: sounds like you had a lovely trip. Your box sounds like it will be great, I think I saw the one you are talking about.

Debbie: enjoy your summerMellow! We got our first dump of snow last weekMad! Hope you are able to get back into your crafting real soon.

Sharon: glad you had a nice visit with your mom.

Take care everyone

Can I just tell you all how happy I am today is our last Lego Club meeting that I have to monitor at school!!!!!!

It's a party, and I have some M&M cookies to take in with me. I'm so beyond thrilled that this 10 week commitment is over. BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

Oh, and I made a few Halloween cards today. I had some extra cuts laying on the floor so I made them into simple cards. I will hold them back for next year. It was nice to switch from Christmas. I've been making a ton of holiday cards for my customers. I was completely wiped out by one of my customers a couple of weeks ago. I have a supply again, a lady at my gym wants some, so I had to make some for her to look through. I'm ready to make some birthday cards or something else for awhile!

Hi I'm new to your chat. I have been making birthday cards for family this year and my sisters-in-law have both been ooh and aching over them. Well I decided to purchase some nicer paper that would lend itself better to being made into cards and make each of them a set for Christmas.

Well my one SIL that I don't like took it upon herself to talk to all her friends about my cards and they all decided that I could sell my cards and that I should contact Hallmark. Not even asking if I would be interested or if it is something that I could do physically.

Sorry for the gripe session but there is no one else to complain to. Thanks for the listening ears so to speak. This is my therapy. I don't know if doing it for any other reason would take the love away.

Shelly: my two dd's got married within 4 months of each other. The first was all planned, the second they surprised us and told us they were getting married in Maui. They had it all planned, we just had to show up. They got married in Oct., so we had a family celebration for them here the following summer as they live in Van. B.C., and we are in Sunny Alberta, where she grew up. The closest stores at the moment for us are about 1/2 hour away, though we are getting our own Michael's. It is being built now...not sure when it's supposed to open though.

Roseann: welcome and glad your life is getting back to normal.

Joy: glad the dinner went well

Heather: besides our kids, we have 2 cats and a pond full of Koi and goldfish. This is the 2nd year we are trying to winter the outside...last year wasn't too successful. Now, we've got all the necessities, so fingers-crossed it will be ok. So far, so good...though we haven't seen real cold weather yet. It's about -10 right now.
Bye for now and take care everyone. Jump in whenever you like our new friends.BigGrin

We have a gold-fish pond to, I think I have picture's on my familys blog, when we moved to our land I wanted one since I seen my mother-in-laws that my hubby dig for her and after being on our land for a year my hubby dig me one, we had some gold-fish in a tank inside our home but we moved them to our outside pond and we have babie's and we never Winter ours I guess because it's deep for them to live safe. I went back and looked but I don't have any on my blog but I will get picture's and post them!

WOW! What a lot of new wonderful people! I am seriously going to need a notebook to help me keep everyone straight.
Another chilly day, but very little wind. I do enjoy the cold, it just takes some time to adjust to it. Only 6 girls showed for Girl Guides, so my plans went out the window. We pulled out the school's parachute and everyone was happy.
Tomorrow I am to help run a bingo! Sharon help me! I don't know very much about it and get nervous with all the different bonanzas, extras, jr jackpots, and twoonie pot. Thankfully I only have to do it once every 3 months or so.
Sandra Enjoy your time off! We are back at it all ready. Our school is on a quad system. Second set of the quad registered today. Seems like a good idea to finish a class in about 6 weeks, but then the departmentals aren't until February. Sounds like a good way to set the students up to fail! I don't mind change and normally welcome it, but this is too much for the special need students.
Shelly I hear you! That's why I don't order anything online unless I have a couple weeks lee way.
Joy I think it is important to know the inlaws. It helps you see where your new family member is coming from.
Sorry for those I missed, but I can't remember anything else and I can only scroll back 10 posts BigGrin
Take care

Hi, I'm Tina. I became hooked when the baby bug came out. My DH purchased it for me as an anniversay present. I have an Epression and an Imagine. I have only used the Imagine several times. I haven't done any crafting since coming back from Sandy Cove in Sept. My youngest dd plays soccer, so that is what I do every Sat. I ususally go to crops the 3rd Sat of every month, but not during soccer seasonBigGrin I will begin again after the last game this Sat. I have to try to catch up on my GS pages and start on a book for my GD. I love coming to the message board for inspiration. Everyone is so talented

Hi Tina, where abouts do you live in NJ? Were you very effected by Hurricane Sandy?

Laura, I love bingo! You will have a fun time doing that! I actually had a bingo I could have gone to tonight! But by the time I got home from dropping my Mum off at the airport it was too late so I missed it tonight. Oh well!

So my Mum is now safely on her plane hopefully... winging her way back to England. Miss her already.

Hi again;
Wow! it's great to see so many new faces join us.
Managed to finish up the scrapbook pages I did at the crop on Sat., and got another on the go. I so want to get DS bowling album DONEBigGrin! Then I can get back to other pics.

Laura: sorry about the guide turnout, sounds like the girls had a great time anyway. Good luck with the bingo. Your notepad covers look great!

Craftmommy: we used to bring the fish in during the winter and stored them in two tanks. It was great until the one that was in our son's room sprung a leak and we didn't know it until the tank was 1/2 empty and leaking into the basement. As he doesn't live at home with us we rarely go into his room unless he's home on w/ends. The leak ruined all the carpet in his room, so we ended up having it all removed throughout the house and laminate flooring put in. Thus; no more fish in the house! I've attached a pic of our pond that was taken last spring.

Tina: My neice plays professional soccer in Sweden. Good luck to your dd, how old is she? I try to get to at least one crop a month, sometimes I can manage more. Most of them aren't at a shop, just gals getting together as we have no local scrapbooking shops left.

Sonja: bet you are glad you are done with the Lego thing. Congrats on getting more cards done.

Sharon: hope your mom has a safe trip home

MOgoggingirl: you are welcome to gripe all you want here. As far as the card thing goes, just do what you are comfortable doing.

Thanks for the welcome. I guess my SIL doesn't realize that if I wanted to make money doing cards I would have already went to work looking into doing that. I am on disability for a reason, because of limited ability to do things. Therefore it would limit my ability to do anything with any consistency, at least for now. Now that we are going into winter, I will be doing even less. My joints get so stiff.

I got my first original bug this year used. I decided that if I was going to be home on disability I had to have something to do when I did feel like doing something. I was introduced to Cricut at the monthly scrapbook crop that I attend at my church. The lady that organizes it and several other women had Cricut cutters and I got to inquiring about them and she explained what they did. I then came to the website and started to explore. I then kept watching people every month using their machines and watching You Tube and then decided to make the plunge and bought one off Craigslist. As soon as I got the machine I signed up on the MB, registered my machine and the cartridge that the woman had left in the machine and started cutting after reading the manual that I got off the Cricut site. Then I started reading posts, looking at carts and then went back to Craigslist and bought 3 carts. Then the rest is history. My love affair began. That was only in Feb of this year.

I know there have been a lot of complaints on here lately but I am not going to let that dampen my love affair with my bug. I am a big girl and I am aware of how technology works. That's why I buy everything used. That way my cost is minimized in case of loss. I worked in the technology world before retiring due to disability so I am a realist when it comes to all things technology. As soon as a product that is technology is released it is outdated. That is the reality of the beast. So I came into all this with my eyes wide open. Maybe more than most.
Love chatting. Have a great night.

Hi everyone, it is going to take me a while to know "who's who in the zoo" - is that an expression you people know? Sometimes you say things and people in other parts of the world have no idea what you are talking about LOL LOL LOL Having moved countries twice, I have first hand experience of this LOL LOL

Had dinner with DD last night, she made a prawn salad - oh my, it was so yummy, I was impressed. I told her that I would happily order that in a restaurant so she was very flattered LOL.

Got home from work today and Jet was not there to meet me, gave me quite a fright! There was a big note from DS, he had taken Jet in his truck to a park for a run around. Have I mentioned how much he is enjoying having his drivers license LOL LOL He came home with icecream sundaes so not only did Jet get a run around the park but also half an ice cream, he is a very happy pup.

Sharan says Hello from Iowa. I am a long time crafter, so addicted to paperkrafting, cardmaking and some scrapbooking. I have the Accucut Grande Mark and tons of cardmaking, scrapbook, boxes, bags, etc. dies so was never ever going to get a cricut. But finally did a couple years ago thru HSN......and am so smitten with it. Cant imagine making cards without my cricut. I use the Expression and my gypsy havent got the other newer machines and not on CCR.
I am a long time hairstylist and also activity director for an assisted living group which I got hooked on making cards. We had a project for Oct. called Pink Ribbon Project and hand made 254 pink ribbon thank you cards to be distributed to oncology patients at the hospital, those battling breast cancer. Now we are taking it one step further and going to make general thank you cards for anyone battling any type of cancer and donate those to the same dept.
I have two children, both grown and gone, and two wonderful stepdaughters, off and married, 5 grandchildren. My husband is my best friend, and we recently adopted a house-pet rabbit. I had gone to an all day crop and BFF and I stopped at a garage sale on the way home. Turns out they had a rabbit they were trying to find a home for because sister was allergic. Well I came home with rabbit, expensive cage, food and all for FREE. He is the sweetest pet, named him Bunny Boy, and he came litter box trained...............won't go anywhere else. My husband is not a big pet person, he grew up on a farm and had lots of outside Pets. But he is spoiling this rabbit. Bunnyboy loves bananas, you can be clear across the room open one up and he KNOWS and gets so excited. One day I had fed him some banana and carrot, so 25 min. later hubby is doing the same thing. I said, he already had some 25 minutes ago to which he replied "Well, he told me he wanted some more" gheez a grown man acting so silly over a rabbit. way funny.
Several years ago my husband ran across a bldg downtown that was coming up for sale, real cheap in small town Iowa............so he bought me my own studio. It is my happy place where I can go and create and keep all my crafting treasures. It used to be a countertop, kitchen cabinet store, called kitchenKrafters so hubby came up with the name of PaperKrafters Retreat............so that is what I call it, my retreat not a place that is open all the time, but I plan to do that when I retire.
Our weather has been mild, it was 70+ on saturday had a wedding to attend and the weather was beautiful. We do get our horrible snow storm winters................I commute to work so it can be a challenge at times. Hope everyone is having a creative day and I look forward to more posts on this thread.
***NOTICE that is NOt my pet rabbit in the avatar, will get one of bunny boy posted soon, but thought that was such a cute rabbit. and though I love my bunnyboy I would NOT share my starbucks with him-ever!!!

Good Morning.

Debbie, I have not heard that phrase, but I like it!

Early morning prayer today. Up since 4:15. Which means a nap this afternoon.

DH's sister will be here today and we will go out for lunch with her. She and her DH live in Northern Idaho in the summer and Arizona in the winter.

I got 160 pieces cut for wedding invites out of Naturals Vanilla from SU. Hopefully today I will get the cherry cobbler cuts made. Then I will start stamping and embossing.

Anyone planning on Black Friday shopping? Or, at Wally's, Thursday! DH has been studying all of the ads he can find.

I know Megan well enough, and know her heart and how much prayer she puts into things, so no, I am not worried about only dating two months. Jordan and Kate will get married in our church, but I am sure that Megan and Brandon will get married outside, with our pastor doing the ceremony.

Nancy! Wow, you were without power that long! I am so glad you got yours back and are able to get back here. We didn't lose ours this time. I am so sorry to hear of all those north of us that were having outages.(heat, gas, water...unbelievable amount!)How frustrating it must have been for you and those without! I can't imagine.

Thanks for restarting the chat thread again! ThumpUp

Hello and welcome to the new friends here!

I am Jeanne from Maryland...transplanted here from Ohio 29 yrs ago when I married my DH!
We have 4 wonderful kids; Seth-24yo that lives on his own, Shanon-20yo just got married in August, Joel-18yo and Simon-15yo.
I have home schooled all our kids...have graduated 3 of them. The older two are in college and working and the middle DS just left for Marine boot camp last Monday(11/5/12), our youngest is a sophomore and is my only one at home at the moment.

Been crafting since high school when I took up crossstich. Then in 1996- a friend introduced me to CM. Then in 2001 is when I started a SERIOUS addiction...stamping! THEN in 2006 is the year that my Cricut addiction started! Been on this MB on and off over the years.

Thank you to Nancy for starting this post! Its been wonderful getting to know you better these past few years.

I do live close to Provo Craft. However, we really only have Michaels, JoAnns, Hobby Lobby, and another small craft store here by me. There was one that originally was owned by PC, I heard that was the best craft store, I thought. It got sold to another company and went out of buisness last year. I really miss that store, they had the best selection of PC items all the time. TONS of carts always.

Was nice living so close to the main office a couple of months ago when my Gypsy had a problem and had to be sent in. I just drove it over and went and picked it up when it was done, so I was without it much shorter time than if I would have had to ship it.

How nice is that to live so close to PC. Between returning 2 Gypsy's and my Imagine it would have been nice to just drop them off lucky youBigGrin

Take care
Laura

Good afternoon everyone;
DH just got his computer back from being upgraded. Spent about 1/2 hour on the phone with Shaw trying to get his e-mail going. The fellow was great and we had it up and running in no time. All this because of a 40.00 game he purchased a couple of weeks ago. Almost have ds's bowling album done, only a couple more pages. Managed to get a bit of Christmas shopping done this a.m. Saw a cute idea on Pinterest for personalizing tumblers with vinyl. I couldn't find tumblers but did find little water bottles that I will do for the kids' stockings. Also got great-neice's giftBigGrinBigGrin!

Sharan:welcome from Alberta, Canada. Your bunny story is so cute. How nice to have your own studio. I like to attend as many crops as I can, that seems to be the only way I get anything doneBigGrin.

Joy: hope you had a nice visit with DH's family

Debbie: glad ds got back safely with Jet and the ice cream sundaes.BigGrin

Will check back in later, want to get back to the bowling album...I'm determined to get it done!
