I am following the directions exactly as printed in the handbook.
The first layer cuts fine. The second (bottom) layer, however, just repeats the top. I am thinking it has something to do with it being an E2, but the directions are for the original.
Does anyone have an answer? I bet it is something REALLY easy!

Hi there! I'm really sorry that no one has answered you (I'm always sad when that happens! ) I've got to admit that I don't own an E2, but I've spend tons of time using one & I do actually teach a class on using it! So I'm afraid I can't run over to try this out - but here's what I think is going on: On the orignal/keypad machines, we do the cut-out layer first, and then press the End Caps Shadow button and then the 'Repeat Last' button. That's crucial because each of the letters has its own specific width and the only way for the shadow to work is to have the exact information from the word that you cut the 1st time. SOOOO, here's how I think it'd be possible to cut it on the E2: * Cut out your 1st layer like usual * Switch to the 'End Caps Shadow' button. * Now re-enter all of your letters/shapes. I think what you should see is just the outline of the end shapes & the addition of the top & bottom cut lines.....
I'd love to know if this actually works - could you please respnd, or send me a PM?????? Gayle

It worked! I was confused, however, because there were no letters, so I had to remember where they were located!
Thank you so much!
