I don't think we have ever been partners before and I will need
some info to begin creating for you.
What are your fav colors or color combos?
I have an idea for you but if you have a certain request
about type of container then plz let me know asap so I can
start searching for it.

My preferences are solidly built materials, not paper,
I love tea cups, copper planters, etc or something else
elegant and sturdy. I love soft pastels like soft pink, wt
cream, soft blues, gold etc. I am a vintage, or shabby chic or glitsy
girly girl and love anything victorian era.

MOgoggingirl, when you read your partner's posts look at the bottom left side of the posting box and you'll see a button that says PM. When you click on it the screen will change and bring you to an email-type page where you can write to her and only she will see it.

Or you can click on Inbox at the top of your page (first line beneath the green Cricut logo)and that will take you to your page to write/receive PMs. Type the name of the person you want to send a Private Message to, add a subject, type your note and hit send.

Howdy Cowboys(gulp)fan! Those are some hard words to get out. LOL Anyway, the Styrofoam goes under the batting and then the material on top. It gives a sturdier base to build you cushion on.
I found some fabric you will like and looking for embellishments now. Have a great day!

Yes ladies, the little piece of styrofoam is very important in order to properly support the 3" stick pins. Remember if you cannot find 3" stick pins please let me know and I will get you some. If you dont want a whole box of 100, I will sell them by the dozen to you for $1.00 plus postage per dozen.

TIPS ON MAKING PIN CUSHIONS :

If anyone has any questions about how to make the pin cushions I will be happy to help. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube, but I have not found one where it is being done correctly yet. One lady is using a styrofoam ball in her teacup, and covers it with fabric, but she omits the batting. If you want it to be pretty and "pouffy" and STURDY also, you need to wrap the styrofoam ball with some batting and then cover it with fabric.

Another tip: Fabric choices - From Velvet to burlap - it doesnt really matter, but I have found that using a "knit" fabric tends to get snagged by the pins and after a while it looks awful. I have found that the best thing to use is 100% cotton broadcloth, denim, or percale.

Also, you can make a great pin cushion using a styrofoam "cube" covered in batting and fabric and then it can be glued to a plate, or candle holder, or lots of oddities...You can also cover a "cube" with pretty scrapbooking cardstock and then embellish it....works great !

I am glad to see so many are getting in touch and using the thread to communicate. It can be very helpful to the "newbies" for the vets to share their information...Love

Just so everyone knows - Since we ended up with an even number of 12 members and I was #13, I will be making a pin cushion, as I make them all the time...and be using it for a Christmas gift, but I will post pics of it here for you to see....or if we end up with a "flaker"Scared which I do NOT expect from this great group of ladies...then I will have one ready to send out to someone. It is a little unusual for a hostess not to have a swap partner, but there is no law that says it cant be done - and I am not afraid of the Cricut Swat Team coming after me !! Razz LOL
