... was anticipating a Halloween extra credit SHELBYWOO: thanks for hosting and awesome sample cards. I love burgundy as well so loving your cards here. I have to try black flowers sometime... don't believe I have in the past. The hot pink and black combo works so well. Cute kittie stamp too!

I most certainly did! Is that a hint I need to bust out my feathers more often? Heee heee... I was actually thinking of using alcohol inks on some of my white feathers and see how that will come out

Dee Me too! I actually have one left over from last year so I need to make only two more. I only give them to my kids anyway to stuff in their lunch box. The rest of my friends' kids I'll see this year for Halloween will get goodie bags instead of cards

Shelby - thanks for hosting this week, great set of sketches. My son text me in a panic a friend is 20 tomorrow and wanted a card. Loved #3 so here it is. Used Kaisercraft papers again "attitude" collection. The young man is Autistic like my son and has just left school for college but keeps coming back to visit. He loves football and gaming hence the little stamps on the sq blocks. Will work on the others over the next few days. Sue.

NanaDonna - The "boys will be boys" is printed on the paper. The collection is fantastic for fellas of all ages and everything goes together so well. The 100% unique is off a panel on there. I go to a crop every other month and that is what she sells Kaisercraft stuff and she has got me in to buying a few pages that go together instead of odd ones that you can never find anything to go with. The card just came together easy from there.

Michelle, thanks for hosting! Great set of sketches from you! I really love the burgundy you used in both your cards! It makes such a rich look to them! Very fun fufu card with the feathers! Dee, you couldn't have matched those colors more perfectly for Michelle's extra credit, lol! I don't need anymore Halloween cards made, but I do need more Thanksgiving cards made! Hmm, maybe a lot of those colors will work good for that! Sue, ok, your sketch 3 just blew mine out of the water! Love how yours turned out!!! Love those rich colors you used! Love that extra twine rope, and wonderful sayings! His friend will love his card! I too used sketch 3 to make my Dad a card! SandyPalmer attached the following image(s):

SandyPalmer: wow Sandy, love your card. I've never done a time / clock piece on any card or layout yet and I should. Yours look so vintage! I love it! Great colors together for a "male" card, you do those so well too. Great details with the zigzag stitching
SHELBYWOO: and there it is... a Halloween card! Hee hee... congratulations for being the first to post one this week. You truly are the Halloween Queen. That's a cute Frankenstein monster. Awesome job with the Ag colors. You know I love flowers and flourish so this card speaks to me! Great use of the stitching here as well

You asked so here is my "Cake Recipe" for the 4" explosion box card I made. I tried to take some pictures to bring clarity to any instructions. Ingredients: one 3 1/2" circle for the base or plate, one 3" circle, one 2 1/2"circle, and one 2" circle for the top of each layer, three 1 1/4" wide strips for the layers (you will need one 9 3/4" long, one 8 1/4" long, and one 6 1/2" long. Take the 1 1/4" wide strips and by overlapping the ends about 1/2" form a circle that will correspond to each top. Glue these ends together. Center each circle strip on top of their corresponding top. On the inside, use a hot glue gun to glue around the circle strips where they meet the tops. You should now have three separate layers. Quickly run a bead of hot glue around the open edge of large layer and center on the 3 1/2" base, press down lightly to stick them together. Follow the same procedure for the middle and top layers. (I like to line up the seams.) Your cake is now ready to decorate. Your decorations will hide any hot glue or imperfections! Joyful Carol attached the following image(s):
