Hi everyone!! Just wondering if you could help me out a little! I'm just starting to dive deeper into my cricut and have been trying to cut fabric... ( with no success! ). So far I have destroyed a mat and several pieces of fabric! I know it's possible and have seen it down on YouTube! My only guess is I'm using the wrong type of fabric. It's for a appliqué on a baby blanket so I wanted something soft but that doesn't seem to be working! Any suggestions on what type of fabric to use would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone! I'm due November 9th but feel this little man is coming early so I gotta get my butt in gear with this blanket!

Did you use Wonder Under on the fabric? It is an iron-on backing that you can get at Wal-Mart & you just iron it on the back of the fabric. Make sure you have a good sticky mat & cut. I used my regular blade & think I was a max pressure & medium speed with 2 on multi-cut. I watched several youtube videos on cutting fabric before I attempted it.

I actually used heat and bond. I think I need stiffer fabric?? What kind of fabric do you use?

I just used a cotton piece! I actually think it was a bandana. I think I used heat bond too.

TammyPuckett- Here are the recommended settings for cutting fabric with our Cricut machines.
• Fabric: 0.023’’/0.58mm thick Housing: Deep Blade Houseing Machine Settings: Speed 3 Med, Pressure 4 High, Blade Depth 5, Multi Cut 1
Note: Use a thin iron on interfacing with the fabric, set the iron at its highest temperature setting. Apply Direct Heat and pressure to flocking for approximately 30 seconds. Peel protective liner when cool. Wash and dry garment inside out
I hope that this helps you! -PCGena

Are you using a brand new blade that has never been used on paper?

i just bought my machine a month ago on hsn...i love the tips i get from the host....i heard that the fabric needs to be stabilized and that felt should be treated or stiffened felt; i have yet to use these materials but the info stuck w/me....good luck i'd call customer service to ask about the type of fabric --- off the top of my head i would guess fabric that you buy in fat quarters would be easier and maybe you'd need to use the deep cut blade but on that don't quote me cs has been so helpful i'd go there....
congrats!!!
