Without any hesitation i would recommend the expression! I have had both machines and recently sold the E2 as i hardly used it.When i got the E2 i sold my beloved expression believing that my new toy was better but i soon regretted it as the E2 was far more complicated to use, worries everytime there was an update too and i did'nt like the spacing of images at all,the light was useful,it did cut nicely and looked very sleek and pretty so there were good points. My hubby could'nt put up with my moaning all the time and bought me a pink expression to cheer me up!,i am a happy girl to have a reliable and easy to use machine again. A lot of people love the E2 but i think also there are an awful lot that like me prefer the old faithful expression. If you have never had a expression you might enjoy the E2 as you wont have anything to compare it to.Good luck with whichever machine you decide to get,i'm sure you will love it

I have never used an Expression, but I have the Expression 2. When I got it last Dec. I was completely new to Cricut. I found the E2 to be very user friendly. I like the touch screen and not having to use the overlays. I think I would have a hard time changing at this point. Just my 2 cents......
