My granddaughter entered kindergarten this year and her teacher does not do bulletin boards. She has asked me to do some for her yet I have no clue as to what to do. Can anyone give me ideas for seasons, subjects etc that are taught in kindergarten.
Thanks for your help.

Charlene If you happen to facebook: https://www.facebook.com/#!/elementaryschoolbulletinboards You could ask her what types of things she'll be teaching or if any simple art projects would be helpful. You could cut simple layers for the kids to put together. I know ours right now has just the kids names on it for a Welcome Back one. If you think monthly, that might help. So moving into October might be Fall Leaves. November - Thankful. December - Snowman / Snowflakes(or maybe different holiday symbols if allowed), January .. drawing a blank. February - Hearts, March - Something to do with St Patricks Day, April-May flowers, June.. sunshine, summer, etc. Tons of idea's out there. Just google it, or even on google images put Elementary Bulletin Boards. HTH :)Khrista

I agree, talk to the teacher. Ask her what themes and units she is planning on doing. Lettering is always a pain for bulletin boards. So even if you don't do many images, the lettering will be appreciated. You could do a calendar board, numbers, colours, weather . . . As a teacher I could go on and on and on If I can help just pm me!

How are the bulletin boards going???
Our DGS' teacher starts everyday by having a helper put up the day of the week, the date, a sun, cloud or rain.
They also have felt clocks by the real clock pointed to the times for school to start, recess, lunch, and school to end. I thought that was clever.
She has a reading rainbow and 10 sight words for each color. When the kids complete the 6-color rainbow, they get a pot of gold.
Just wanted to see how things were going.
