I tried to cut thin cardstock last night and it just wasn't cutting at all. Totally shredded the paper. I left the blade depth at 6 but I set the pressure at medium and the speed at medium as well. Cut perfectly, no jagged edges at all. I worried that it wouldn't cut all the way through, but it did.

Play around with depth, speed, and pressure settings; every machine is a little different. You'll get to know yours as you use it. I know that on mine I have to change the speed and pressure if I use Club Scrap paper. It's much tougher to cut, typically, than other papers.
