I keep seeing post on the net that say the knifty knitter has been discontinued, is there any truth to this?

Supposedly another company bought out the rights to KK. They're still in stores, as I was checking this out at Wally World. So, I'm not sure if it's true or not.

I have seen a VERY similar product, right down to the packaging in several stores. The colours are more pastelly than I remember the knifty knitter being. There were the ring sets as well as the long sets. I have seen them in Walmarts and Zellers.
