Hi Rhonda.

Tell me about it. We gotta pay thousands of dollars to visit family back there. It's all worth it though when we're altogether.
Family though always like to come home(Guam) because it's nothing but beach and relaxation.

Nothing beats home:)

& maybe to all the SS you can find sometime to come by next year as you are all welcome to the big day!
Family here means a lot.

Very small island, but the people have very big hearts.

That's why it's so hard to be specific lol on my list because I will appreciate anything.
Hopefully the lady who has me reads this and doesn't at all stress on my box.

Good Morning Secret Santa Sisters!!

Traci/Rebecca, hope and pray the family stays safe!
STW, prayers for your home and family too.

I just can't imagine what it must be like in all that heavy rain and wind. I don't think I would be brave enough to stay there either!! I do think we are to get some rain from Isaac on Saturday here though! We can still use rain so that will be a welcome site!

to answer the latest question...do I have a Chistmas theme? Well, not really! My front room gets decorated with Santa's, my family room gets decorated with religious and Santa's both!! Then, after Christmas when I finally take down my Christmas decor, I decorate the house with snowmen!! I try to keep the 'Christmas-y' off my snowmen and get ones that are just 'wintery' and not Christmas!! I love snowmen, but prefer they not have legs cause except for Frosty, have you ever built a snowma with legs? It just doesn''t work for me!!

AbbyLin, how fun it would be to plan a Christmas wedding! My parents got married on Christmas day (over 60 years ago!). Will you be getting married in a candlelight ceremony? What is the weather there in December?

Hi there Grandmaj.
Sorry for speaking to you in terms of your Tag name.
We haven't met yet and I would love to know the name you go by in here BigGrin

Christmas is such a beautiful and happy holiday.

Weather here is unpredictable. We live in a humid environment. Sunny but breezy weather most of the year. Although our rainy season is August. So this month we're in the unpredictable side of mother nature. You wake up and it's rainy then by 1pm its sunny like crazy. Or you sleep to the sound of the rain and wake up to the sun shining through your windows. Very friendly weather though.

During Christmas we get the best weather. Cold breezes at night and warm sunlight during the day. We choose the late afternoon at the convenience of family.
Crossing my fingers weather holds up to our liking because we haven't had a typhoon in years and usually they fall in December. LOL Candlelight sounds very romantic. I actually like that thought. I will keep that in mind. Our decor is simple, but when all goes together it will be beautiful, crossing fingers. We chose the ice cycle Christmas lights, orchids, organza, and our natural props(coconut trees, beach torches, and sand). I really want less stress for the family so we can more time doing other things before and after the wedding.

I only want to get married once that's why it took 7years for this to come true. GrandmaJ when you spoke of your parents being married over 60 years ago I'm assuming they are no longer here, but I'm pretty sure they had an everlasting marriage. Thats what I want. Older people make my heart melt when I see them Interact. Like hold hands, lay on the beach, or open the door. *tear just thinking of how long of a marriage your parents must of had.

Read your post about snowmen. Once Christmas comes this year I will send to you how we make our snowmen. LoL we dress them up like surf dudes or hula girls. We have other terms for them but I don't think you would understand. Many people say our island is like Hawaii, but smaller and more humble. No snow here lol, but it's funny how we substitute snow for other things.

Hi Abby Lin!
My name is Janice! Thanks for the info about Guam! I think I blocked out my entire geography class in school, that or it was so many years ago that I have forgotten what I once knew!! My parents, actually, are both still living! They will be celebrating 62 years this Christmas! I am blessed to have them still, as well as to have all my family except my own son living within 20 miles of each other! your wedding plans so far sound beautiful! And you still have plenty of time to come up with more ideas and to make things for it!! Oh, and don't worry about calling me grandmaj...everyone does!!

Good Morning!!
Checking in for the day, it's going to be a busy morning! Have to run into Barberton, my hometown about 20 minutes away, to a meat market for steaks for this weekend... then have to hit the grocery store... hope Kaitlyn is up to running around!!! I'll be stopping to see my Mom, too, love that!
Abby Lin, your holidays and culture sound fascinating!! I'd love to see pictures of the snowmen you make!!
janice, I forgot to tell you... the floors in my art room clean up beautifully!!! So if things get spattered or spilled it's no big deal!!! Right now Kaitlyn is gluing cut pieces together, so I'm pretty sure the floor will get washed again today... sigh...
Have to get going...
Rhonda, I know... I wish things would be better... someday....
Talk later,
Hugs,
Teri

hi all,

waving at everyone!!

My sister pam is having surgery again today to try and remove infection that she got from having her expander removed (she had breast cancer 6 years ago and had implants with expanders put in then.. they took one out a while ago due to infection that almost killed her) and now this will be the 4th surgery she has had done to deal with this infection.. shes getting frustrated and im praying she will be ok!!

I thought of a question for all.. are there any crafty books you are looking for or would like to have?

I love Christmas but each and every year I always find myself missing my mom and dad.. who both died in a fire when i was 19..

Have a great day all!

A theme for Christmas? Well, my upstairs is done mostly in pinks, whites and creams, angels, snowflakes, and icicles are on my tree, mostly pale shades... at least in my living room... the kitchen tends to be whatever i think is pretty cute at the moment. I have Christmas/winter Boyds Bears that I do a display on my one counter, and I love different, little Nativity sets. Downstairs is the "man" room and that has all the hunting/outdoorsy stuff, plaid ribbons on the tree... it's pretty neat when it's done... and like Janice, after Christmas my snowmen stay out, and some snowflakes...
MaryAnne, did you see my post about the wedding Magnolia stamps????
Talk later...
Hugs,
Teri

Hi,everyone. Thanks so much for all of your well wishes and prayers - very much appreciatedBigGrin Well, looks like I'm in Washington yet a few more days - flight today was cancelled and flights out tomorrow totally booked up. Earliest I could get out is Saturday, which means I will miss the season opener for LSU Footbal......grrrr. (I LOVE my LSU TIGERS!) On the flip side, I am so thankful that my family is safe as well as my home - just lots of water-logged yards and trees down - but so minor as far as what it could have been - so many people once again lost their homes or suffered major damage. I am so lucky and blessed.

Theme for Christmas - well.....if I had one, I guess it would be a winter wonderland. I collect the Department 56 Snow Villages and set them out all over the house. Adding all the little "extras" like trees, peeps, etc is an on-going process!

I have a OT question for all the ss's who have lost someone close to you - and getting through the holidays...any helpful hints that helped you get through them a bit more easily? I lost my mom in April and the holidays always centered around her and her house - not to mention that we were extremely close. I don't mean to bring anyone down - I'm doing OK, I really am - just wanting to ask those that have been through it if you have any helpful words of wisdom to make this holiday season a little less hard.

I really don't have any craft books on wish list, but would love a Cricut magazine or a Card making magazine. I'm a scrabooker, and just now starting to try my hand at card making. I need all the help and inspiration that I can get!!!!! Imagination is NOT my middle name...lol.

NOW, anhyone interested in a funny story? (I know this is a long post.....sorry!) I've been here in Washington since the Aug. 15th. On the 18th, I broke a tooth and tried to get some adhesive from the drugstore to glue it back in until I got home to my dentist. Well, it didn't work, and this was on a Saturday night. To make matters worse, it was right next to my FRONT TOOTH - so for the next 36 hours, I wouldn't speak without putting my hand over my mouth. My daughter (who is 20) begged me to text her a pic. NO WAY.....next thing I know she would have it circulated to all of my family and her friends!!!! I founnd a dentist on Monday - ended up having a root canal (on a tooth that had already had one done 26 years ago) and a CROWN. 6 HOURS, 3 prescriptions and $2000 later, I left the dentist office. Something tells me maybe I wasnt't supposed to make this trip? Between the tooth and the hurricane.........geeze-Louise.

OK, ladies. Sorry for the EPIC post.....just felt like sharingLove

Hugs to you all.

Sharon

Ho Ho Ho everyone!!

Sounds like you all are keeping busy!

Rhonda, someday those boys will be old enough to go see whoever they want to and then you will definately see them! i bet they miss you terribly too. No relief in site on that matter? Hugs and prayers for you dear...I just can't imagine.

Maryanne, how hard that must of been to loose your parents so tragically. My heart goes out to you, even though time has passed. Prayers for your sister too. Hope they get the infection sraightened out and get her on the road to recovery.

STW, omg...what rotten luck for vacation!! Glad to hear your house and family are ok, that has to be a releif to you. And your tooth...sister you are really getting hit with the unlucky streak this trip!! Hope whoever you are visiting doesn't mind you staying a big longer....lol! My dh would go crazy if that happened to us. He doesn't stay with anyone and always gets a motel. Even when we go visit my son! Hopefully your extra couple days will go by fast....why not take in a few scrapbook stores in your spare time!!

Teri, my snowmen don't even come out till I am putting away Christmas!!

Maryanne prayer for your sister, how frustrating it must be for her, I'm glad she has you to help her through.

STW quite the story, not sure about the "funny" part but definitely a story to remember. So glad your family is safe and your home is still standing.

I don't have a Christmas theme, I actually haven't had a Christmas tree or decorations since my son moved out of the house and my husband has been offshore most Christmas's so I didn't see the point to go to all that work by myself for myself, but now that i'm in a house closer to my sister and her kids, I will probably put up a tree and decorate.

This is going to be a big crafting weekend for me, I have most everything bought for all my swaps, so I'm hoping everything will flow and I will be very productive.

Hope everyone has a wonderful and SAFE weekend.

Hello fellow crafters

No Christmas theme for me either, well, I do decorate my tree with vintage type decorations. Most of the decorations the kids made me got ruined over the years while in storageCrying . Really just whatever catches my eye goes on the tree. I really just have a mod podge of ornaments, some santas, snowmen, snowflakes, sleighs, birdhouses. I used to do alot of decorating all over the house for the holidays when the kids were little, once they got older I quit doing that. I might start doing a little more decorating now that Aden is getting old enough to enjoy it.

I don't get any craft magazines/books either, I hate to spend the money on them when it could be better spent on craft suppliesLaugh . I will sometimes go to the library and borrow craft magazines from there.

Cricutjunky -- I hope you enjoy your crafting time and get alot accomplished.

Joysee-- Hope your having a wonderful evening also.

GrandmaJ-- I have a few snowmen also that I usually put on my mantle at Christmas, I never really thought much about leaving them out for the winter. I think I will start doing that so I can enjoy them a bit longer.

Maryanne -- I hope your sister recovers quickly.

STW-- Happy to hear all is well with your family and home. Yikes on the tooth, glad you were able to get it fixed but wowzers on the price.

Rhonda -- I don't know the situation with your grandkids but I will say a prayer that things work out soon and you can spend some time with them. I am sure they miss you also. We live somewhat close to each other, I would love to meet you some day.

M&KGrandma-- Your decorations and trees sound lovely. I always like to hear about or see other peoples decorating style, it sometimes gets me motivated to redecorate or do a major deep cleaing on my house.

Sorry if I missed anyone on here.

Good morning!

Maryanne so sorry to hear about your sister! I will be praying for her.

STW I am so glad to hear that your family is safe and that your house wasn't damaged by the storm. I hope you get home and your flights aren't changed again. Glad you was able to get your tooth fixed. I just want to send you a cyber hug. Bless your heart.

Abby Lin your wedding plans sound amazing so far and so does Guam. I do hope you will continue to share. I am sure your SS will be happy with your more specific ideasWink !

Rhonda saying a prayer for you. I cant imagine what your going through.

Teri your Christmas decorations sounds beautiful. I would love to have more than one tree.

Have fun crafting Cricutjunky! I hope to wrap up a few swaps this weekend as well. I have a couple that need to go to the PO.

Christmas theme....no theme here. I have a little bit of everything. Although I am ready for a change. This may be the year!

Crafty magazine....don't really have an books except magnolia ink magazine. I get so much inspiration from them.

Have a great day!

Hello and TGIF....

Adens_nana....I too would love to meet you...where in Indiana are you exactly? North,SOuth????? We could do this girl....Thanks for your kind words. I will be PM'g you sweetie.

GrandmaJ...I know...and they are only 5 and 6 and it's extremely hard. I'm afraid they will forget me...no one speaks of me...they will not know I am alive. It breaks my heart...but I've tried EVERYTHING to see them.

Jess...thank you for the prayers...they are always welcomed.

STW...WOW...I'm so sorry your vacation wasn't much FUN at all. Happy to hear the dentist was able to fix your tooth but the price.....OMG!!!! I hope your next vacation is more pleasurable. Thank God your family and home are safe....water-logged, but safe.

On the missing a loved one....I know your pain!!! Mine are not actually past...but I do not get to see my grandkids. IT was DEC 17th....3 yrs ago...and to me...it was the WORST thing my son could have done to me and at Christmas. THis is why I am not a participate of this holiday as I once was. They were the reason to celebrate, besides Christ of coarse. It kills me each year to not have them ....so I do not put a tree up or decorate. Too many reminders of how it use to be. So I can understand how you feel without those loved one there to celebrate such a joyous time each year. Memories are all we have, don't ever let them slip away.

HUGS

Hi, gals! Hope everyone is well today....TGIF! Thank you all for your kind words and wishes - the mean so much.Love

Rhonda, I am so sorry that you are unable to see your grandchildren. I don't know the circumstances but will remember you in my prayers and that the situation rectifies itself soon.

Did everyone see the promotion that JoAnn's is having? Spend $30 (I think its 30) pre-tax dollars this weekend (Fri-Mon) and get a card for 30% off entire purchase including sale items for a future purchase. I'll be traveling all day tomorrow to get home, but definitely plan on visiting JoAnn's either Sunday or Monday when I do get home!!!! Sounds like a good time to do some SS shoppingLove

Well, if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, it bc of packing and traveling and will be back online most likely sometime Sunday evening or Monday.....if not tonight after I finish packing. Have to leave for the airport bright and early tomorrow - we are 2 hours north of Seattle - yikes! It is going to be hard get acclimated to my normal hot and humid weather again, after being spoiled with this absolutely heavenly northwestern pacific weather.....who knew it could actually be in the 50's in August? In Louisiana, we're happy if it doesn't get into the 100's in August...........sigh!!!

It is soooo humid here this afternoon, I wish it would just rain already! Last night they said we might get 6 inches here, but today they have backked it off to about 2-3 inches. Starting late tonight and going till early Sunday morning. Whew!!

STW -- Have a safe trip home

Rhonda -- I live in Owen County, ever here of Gosport? Don't worry if you haven't, lol it is juse a little speck on the map. lol

Hope everyone has a nice long weekend and gets to get some crafting time in. I plan on getting a few other swaps finished up and getting started on this one.

Good Morning Secret Santa Sisters!!

rain is falling here from Isaac. Started around midnight but not coming down hard. Just a nice gentle rain so far! I have to go to the vet this morning to get syrenges (sp) for Bitsy so I hope it isn't raining too hard yet then.

Rhonda, sorry you won't be able to join us this year but I understand. Hopefully next year you can come back!

Aden's_Nana, we would love to meet you if you can come!!

I picked up a couple things at J's last night for my Santa box!! Nice to be able to say I have started this swap now!!

Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Good morning! I am so glad its saturday. I like that the kids are back in school but I haven't gotten used to the morning chaos. I woke up to DD coming to my bathroom. I can't believe she's up already. Do yall have any big plans for the weekend? I am going to spend it cleaning and crafting! I would like to get my SS's handmade item started and finished this weekend. I want to make her a **** since its on her list. It will take a little time but I am sure I can do it! I love making them. Well off to check on my other swaps and then its time to get busy!

Have a fantastic day!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I finally managed to get myself into my craft room, now I just need to decide what I am going to work on, so many things I want to make I don't know where to start. lol.

1coolmom -- We are headed to Destin, FL. I have only been to FL. once and that was for a short day trip, so I am looking forward to being there longer.

Rhonda -- I pm'd you back also. Gosport is south of Indy, about an hours drive. You mentioned the Paragon racetrack once, we are about 10 minutes from Paragon. Good luck with all of the vehicle work and your pole barn. We had to have a new retaining wall installed for our driveway, I hated paying that much money for it but it looks so nice and is a lot safer than the old one. Then once we did that we had to replace the steps from the driveway down to the walkway to the house, then the steps didn't look good with the old walkway so we replaced the wooden walkway with stone pavers. It never ends Laugh

Janice-- I will think about it. I am not one for long drives by myself, I find it hard to stay awake driving for very long also I am VERY directionaly challenged. Laugh I have a GPS, if I do decide to join you so that should help me. lol. Is it in a very big city that the crop is in? I hate lots of traffic when I am trying to find where I am going.

Well I better get some crafting done, dh agreed to take me to Greenwood to do a little shopping and dinner so I better get something started before we leave.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Brandon is in Central, FL on the gulf side near Tampa. We got a LOT of rain from the storm but nothing the area isn't used to.

We are a good drive from Destin but I have heard it is beautiful!

Wow, I have a lot of catching up.

Christmas theme: Red and white is the colors I use with harley ornaments on the tree. Leather stockings hung over the electric fireplace.

Craft books: would love some on how to use copic markers. Starting to learn about coloring stamped and digital images.

I have a question:

What tool/s or cartridge/s is on your wish list?
