Each year teachers at our school come together as a team to walk in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Our district has taken on strict fundraising guidelines where food (the #1 money maker) can not be sold for fundraising. I completely agree with the policy but it left us with a dilemma, how do we raise money? I decided to have one of our school groups sell "Locker Tattoos" made of removable vinyl. We sold different colored awareness ribbons and posted signs up to represent their meanings. Would you believe we raised over $300 in one week? One month later, a colleague lost his daughter to an aggressive form of cancer. In an effort to raise money for her young son, the students created a special "Limited Edition" locker tattoo with an "N" on it (N being the first initial of the child). In a panic, I realized I did not have enough of the color needed to cut the number of ribbons I would need. The people at Expressions Vinyl worked with me and generously helped make sure I had what I needed in time for our fundraiser. THEY ROCK!!! Below are some pictures of some of the lockers displaying their tattoos.

Great idea! We couldn't sell food for our service project last year due to a student with severe allergies. We didn't end up doing anything this creative. They really look great! I haven't tried to cut vinyl yet but it looks hard to me. I tried the duct tape sheets and about lost my mind. Good work and a wonderful cause.
