After I thought my update was successful, I am having way to many issues.

I created a page of "August"s for a calender swap I am doing.

I have tried three times to cut it. Each of the times, the only part that cuts through is the center of the page. This third cut has stopped, stalled, restarted and drove me nuts for the last 30 minutes.

I have adjusted paper settings to the deepest blade depth, pressure and speed.

What gives?

Your build or firmware should be 0079:0040:0240. I think that is our problem as it is not getting to 240. Contact PC and let us know the outcome.

Here is a screenshot of the info from Cricut Sync.

I did a restore and update on it, and still not cutting through. Its like its not getting the pressure it needs.

You did a restore and reformat after my last post? What numbers build or firmware are you showing from your E2 because I am not seeing the last number?

The photo that you posted, please erase your serial number. Thanks!

Finding Firmware From E2:

If you can't catch the E2 firmware on boot up, tap the wrench icon on the main screen, tap the right arrow at the bottom 4 times, then tap the ! icon. You will see the firmware number which is a series of number:a series of numbers:a series of numbers.

The numbers are the same (0079-0040-1000)

Yes, I did the restore and reformat after your last post... and then checked it in Cricut Sync, it said it had the latest version. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Cricut Sync.

I do believe that my cricut is not putting the pressure in like it should... I am not sure how or why a firmware update could fix it.

I just called PC> As always, very helpful. They are sending me a new blade housing. May see if I can find one I had before it gets here...

They also said that my firmware was the most up to date. Mercy, as an FYI, they said both numbers are correct.

To be continued...

Thanks for the outcome! Now that you mentioned it, I guess the last numbers depend on when you purchased the device as that is an assumption as yours will be different from mine. Got it! Thanks! BigGrin Let us know the outcome!

New update :)

I went to my moms and "borrowed" her housing, and it worked!!! At least from the standalone part of it... when I went to cut from CCR it had some issues, including CCR failing. I do think that was from the computer falling asleep tho.

GREEEEAAAATT!! That is AWESOME news! Thanks for letting us know. I think CCR is stubborn at times. :) If your E2 cuts standalone or with a G, then it probably is something going on with CCR.

Yes, try it with your G and I see you are now in the process of updating the G and let us know if the E2 works with the G.

Remember, until a fix is released, instead of using the load mat icon on the G, use the load mat on the E2 because if you use the G's icon, then you will get a communication error! Let us know the outcome!

Updated the G, tried to hook up and I get communication errors. Mat was loaded on the E2, screen showed that G was connected to E2, yet it kept saying I lost communication, to check connections, restart yadda yadda. I had two cords, so tried them both.

It also said I needed to check to see if the E2 had the most up to date software, but the G couldnt connect to it.

I just opened CCR and for the first time it asked me to authorize my computer to cut with my CCR. That was new... not sure if that caused an issue or not. I am cutting now, and so far looking good.

My G has been a paper weight for quite a while, so if CCR does its job it will continue to be one.

**Edited to add that I did get cuts from CCR, however they still are not clean cuts. Im gonna have to pry them off the paper and use a xacto knife to get them clear out, but better then before I suppose. Ill wait on this other housing, should be here Saturday, check it then and if no good, call em back on Monday. I suppose it could be a combo of blade housing and pressure setting inside the mechanics of the machine.

Glad that the G update worked!

When you connected the G to the E2, did you use the load mat on the G or the E2?

When your E2 was connected to CCR as I am assuming you are using a PC and not a Mac, did you add the CCR drivers for the E2?

I used the load mat option on the e2, however the Gypsy does not recognize its loaded because the load mat button is lit, and the Cut button is not.

I am using PC. I am assumuing I added the E2 drivers.. i still get a notice that I need to install my cricut expression drivers... even though I have, and still it prompts me to do it.

I dont know if it matters really, but I uninstalled all my Cricut Drivers. Uninstalled CCR. Rebooted my computer twice. Reinstalled CCR, and plugged in my E2. Computer says the install was a success, however, upon opening CCR, I get the prompts to install the drivers.. is it just a fluke?

Once you add the E2 drivers to your computer via C Sync, once you open CCR, what you are seeing is that you have to add the CCR drivers as they are different from the computer drivers.

My bff was having all kinds of trouble with her pink Expression. She had even purchased an E2 thinking the Expression was dead. When I read your post, I promptly called her and we met this weekend to see if my housing worked in her Expression. It did! I just have to say thank you for making this post. She will be returning the E2 this week since she has ordered her replacement housing. I say yeah to you!
