I am trying to do layering and I have no clue how to do it! I am trying to cut some leaves from the free October/November classroom cartridge and whenn I cut the leaf and then the second part the same size they dont match up. Any hints or tips you can help me with would be great! I am new to using the expression II so not sure really what I am doing.

As long as you do not change the size of the cut everything should fit. Sometimes the back doesnt match the front, its not suppose too, the bottom piece usually is a little bigger then the top.

If I have a size for the first leaf, how do I make the size the exact same for the second leaf? I am looking at the layering help tab in the CCR but I am totally confused. I wish this was simpler.

Oh ok, didnt realize you are doing this in CCR..i have never used that before. But really whatever size you have the first you should just leave it the same size and the 2nd part is to fit on or over the 1st it should fit. You will get more responses if you post to the General Chat area, the main chat room where lots of people visit.

You need to make sure you have the Relative button on. I cut that leaf and it didn't match up perfectly, but you could take a scissors and trim that extra off I guess.

Go to YouTube and type in cricut gypsy/layering...there is a world of info there. That is where I have learned everything I know about using my cricut and gypsy.

Okay I did some layering projects a few months ago and this is how I did it: In the CCR on the main screen I picked my shape, then at the top you should see an eye, layer 1, and a +. Click the + to add a layer and it will create a new tab and color. Then click on your shape again and it will add it to the mat with that new color. Then I move one shape on top of the other and kind of move the arrows until I see the layering that I want and then move it back onto the mat and then cut them out. This is the only way I know how to do it. If there is an easier way someone please share with me! Jen C.
