I see that the new Cuttlebug does not include a C plate. How do you cut without the C plate? Is the new Bug for embossing only or what?

I am curious about this answer as well. I realize the answer is money....but that was one of the great selling features of the Cuttlebug, it included all the materials needed to use the other manufacturers products.

if the C plate does not come with it, can you still buy it separately and use it on the new one?

You can use the two B plates to cut most of the Cuttlebug dies and the thicker Sizzix and Tim Holtz dies. The C plate is necessary if you want to cut with the really thin metal dies from Spellbinders, etc. The C plate is also necessary if you want to use the quilling flower sets by Cuttlebug. Actually, I use the long C plates for the quilling flower sets. I use one of the B plates on top for embossing only. The use the other B plate for cutting only. I switch them back and forth depending upon what I am embossing/cutting. Hope this helps! Michaels carries the C plates in both sizes.
I picked up a spare yesterday.
If you don't see them go through the B ones they get mixed up easily because they look so much alike.
