I need to make a sash for my daughter to ride in a 4th of July parade with the letters MISS POPPY, associated with the American Auxillary Legion. Please can anyone give me the information about how to cut the letters out and place them on the sash, red material. I do have white material, can I use that to cut out the letters and place them on the red ribbon like material

Okay this is what you are talking about. Depends on the type of fabric if you can iron on to it? You would need to put a backing on the white fabric in order to cut with the Cricut, like heat n bond, that's if the red material can take heat, same for the white fabric is it cotton? As for the letters, of course you need a cartridge with a font on it.

There are a lot of tutorials on how to do this - just google cutting fabric with cricut and you will find all kinds of videos and step by step tutorials. I will link you to one: Cutting Fabric with a CricutI personally hate Heat n' Bond - but that is the easiest fusible backing to find. I like Wonder Under - but you will probably have better luck finding Heat n' Bond. YOu might want to use a pressing cloth if you have "silky" fabric. Test it out first - it might melt. Cotton is a lot easier to work with. You might want to consider fabric paint, if your sash fabric cannot take heat. You can cut your stencil out of freezer paper (but you will have to iron that on your sash) or vinyl. You can use contact paper for your vinyl. Again - loads of tutorials out there for doing this - just give it a google! Good luck with your project :)
