I'm trying to insert pics of my projects, and it will never show the pic, only the URL. Am I doing something wrong? I am using my Flickr account. And I really am very computer savvy, but I still have yet to get a pic to show up!

Here's some instructions that use photobucket but Flickr should be the same. http://myfaqcricutds.blogspot.c...tos-to-messageboard.html

Are you using the "image tag"? {IMG} url {/IMG} .. but use the [ bracket instead of the { bracket.... Make sure you reduce the files size of your picture before posting it though. The first one I have is a "medium" size, the second is "small"

I've resized my image, but where do you get the image url? Do we need to use a certain program? (I'm uploading from my computer, not an online gallery.)

We are using pictures that we already have hosted on an online gallery, such as photobucket. Photobucket will generate the code automatically for you - just copy and paste it here, or you can insert your own html image tag by clicking on "insert image" from the toolbar above. OK - duh on my part here! You can also attach by selecting "Attach files to this post" that is in the lower left side of the screen when you are composing your message... When you select POST, it will send you to "browse" for your picture. It will then insert it in your post... unregistered attached the following image(s):

You can see the differences on how the pictures look. With the last upload, the cookie, I directly uploaded it from my computer to the Cricut site. The others, I have hosted on Photobucket and posted the image tag here. I think it is easier using the Photobucket method, but if you don't already have your images hosted there, or don't want to go through that step - the Cricut hosted one would be easier. Sometimes you see just the "link" when someone uploads to the Cricut site - that is because the file size is too big. I use a Windows Power Toy for resizing my images - SO EASY! You don't have to open a new program, etc... just right click on the picture you want to upload (even from the "browse" box!) and select the size you want to reduce it to... Then it renames the picture, so it doesn't mess up your original! Easy peasy! :) Here are some links to the Windows Power Toy gadgets: Windows Power Toy Image Resizer WINDOWS 7Windows Power Toy XP Image Resizer

I finally got it to work just using the URL link from my blog. :) The one from Flickr never did work. I don't use Photobucket much, it might have been easier that way. I guess I'll try it like that next time!

Thanks! I was trying to figure this out too. I don't use photobucket or flickr anymore. I can never remember my passwords. I'm going to give it a try! http://learningcurve2012.blogspot.com/

If you right click your mouse while the cursor is over the photo, you should get several options and one of them is to copy the image URL. Copy that and come to the MB. Type your messages and then click the photo icon {the mountain and sun} in the tool bar. A window will pop up and just press Control V to paste the code {you don't need to click in the box, the cursor is already there}. I grabbed the code from a photo on your blog and used this process and here it is! Whenever a MB has options for adding photos {and this one has 3: the photo icon, the ATTACH button at the top of your own posts or the Attach Files to this Post as the bottom}, you should use those. Pasting photos directly into a message bogs down the system quicker.

Quote:Pasting photos directly into a message bogs down the system quicker. Just curious as why this would be? When a photo is hosted off site - it should actually make the message board run easier than if the picture is hosted here. I am not trying to be snarky on this - really just curious. I know that animations and large file sizes can really slow things down.

I don't know. It's just what I was told by IT. On the old MB when people would post photos in the message instead of through the photo icon {I think that was the only option on the old MB} it caused a problem. Especially when people would copy the post with the photo over and over again in a thread.
