I just got my replacement for my mini that was broken. I have been able to use my old mini with CCR and my G successfully. I went use my mini with CCR and it tells me I need to do a firmware update to ver. .23. I do that and it says complete. I try to cut again and the same thing happens. It's just a contiuous loop. I have uninstalled both CCR and the mini drivers,I turned off both my antivirus and firewall, reinstalled them and even restarted my computer all to no avail. When I do the firmware update, after it is complete, the mini does not turn off so it can be restarted. This is my desktop in my craftroom and it runs XP.
I decided to see if it worked on my netbook that runs Windows 7. I was able to do the firmware update and cut with CCR, my mini, and netbook just fine. My mini now works with my G. However, when I plug my mini backi into my desktop, it still tells me I need to do the firmware update and I start the whole loop over again.
What is going on?

 Just trying to set up my computer, mini, gypsy. Won mine on Cricut Cruise to Carribean. TSA opened my mini and removed the instructions (if it had any) I've been searching all over to get set up. Found out had to register cart's all over-cricut, rewards, and I think now on mini and G. I was trying to find out what firm ware was. Went to chat, but realized was in shopping area and person was unable to get my mini setup. I think my problem is the sync not installed for mini, probably for the g. Try this next. First time in the forum, hope I can find it again. Also got first quarter in circle. Haven't set up yet, but already lost one month of quarter trying to get started with the mini.

You need to install the drivers first. You can find the link for the instructions here. http://www.cricut.com/craftroom/default.htmlClick on the words "install the drivers.. ." Lisa
