Last weekend I finally decided to use my Spongrbob cart. My grandson loves Spongrbob so I bought this cart several months ago just for his b-day card. My card didn't turn out to bad, seemed to take forever to make.

I hated every minute of using this cartridge.

What carts have you used that just stressed you out?

I have had a hard time figuring out what color to make which layer in Dude. When I am going to use it, I have finally just started making the cuts with cheap white cardstock so I can figure out which layer is which.

Good idea. That was some of my problem with Spongrbob.

Good question.

I had a hard time making two cards on the Christmas Card cart. Watched youtube to figure out how to do the layering. I'd be lost w/o YT BigGrin O.T., I really don't care for the original TBBM. It such a boring cartridge IMHO, I used it once; it came with my G so I didn't buy it myself.

Like joyfullycrafting, I also make test cuts with cheap white cardstock just to make sure everything fits, before I the final cut. I do this with every cart though and have a ton of white scrap paper lol.

Best, Mary R.

either four legged friends. I have trouble figure out what color to cut what layers because the colors they used are horrible!!! I think I am just going to cut out one of each in normal pet colors with notes and put them in a binder so I know.

and any of the disney, sesame street, hello kitty ones. There are so many tiny pieces! Once I get them together they are great but all those little pieces, and if I am making more then one, well forget it I'll figure something else out...lol! I guess I can be lazy sometimes! lol.

bakerchick, thanks for asking this. I'm excited to see what everyone else says too!

Nadia! I can't even picture you doing that! LOL

Frustrating carts - any of the disney ones with the princesses on them depending on what I'm trying to get done. Those itty bitty eyes etc I just gave up on and draw in now :)

I agree with Spongebob...I used him for my sons Valentine's treat bags and my OMG that was a HUGE mistake. I've cut out the others and they weren't so bad but that Bob made me want to give up a few time...so many small pieces...the Disney carts I agree with too.

OMG the Princesses drove me NUTS! Those tiny little pieces! Ugh! And Pixar ... I did the Monsters cut the other day ... I lost many eyes and many toenails! Never again! I gave up! I had created Wall-E on my G but after the Monsters cut was such a disaster, I didn't even bother cutting it out! Cursing Mad Cursing

I'm so glad I asked this ? I never thought about cutting from white card stock first. I will do that for sure when using carts with so many tiny detail pieces. Thanks to all.

I found this to be a great question. I have had a hard time with Ribbons and Rosettes. I have yet to get my rosettes to fold properly! I have to admit that the Disney carts can give me a run for my money, too – especially with all of the teeny tiny pieces/layers – and that’s on a good day! LOL.

Angry That would definitely have to be Tinkerbell...only cart that even made me scream. Only way I can do it is cut in 8 inch size. I wish Peachy Keen would make me some eyes for it, lol

The more intricate the design, the nicer it looks, the more you pull your hair out! I used to look like the first picture, but now I look like the second one due to these crazy carts! LOL

The cartridge I think was my biggest waste of money and the most frustrating would be Everyday Popup cards. I wish they had a booklet like the one with the TBBM2, love that cartridge.

What a great posting! Any of the carts used to make flowers. I am a failure at any of them. The flowers always look like a 4 year old made them. If that wasn't bad enough, now I have Giant Flowers, so I have Giant Failures. Always drool over any posts that have lovely flowers in them. Everyone has beautiful flowers-mine look like blobs. LOL LOL LOL LOL

This is why I haven't purchased Giant Flowers - I'm sure my "creations" would be failures too.

I never had any issues with the Disney carts until the Pixar Toy Story one. Buzz Lightyear is a nightmare and of course, he is my boys' favorite.

I cut out all the road signs on the Cars cartridge, and I was very confused about the layers, and which color to make which. I had to lay every layer out on my gypsy, each cut to a separate mat, and overlap them until I could figure it out. It seems there are extra layers in them, I just couldn't figure where they fit. And there was a shadow feature too, which I couldn't tell if it was truly a shadow or a necessary layer to the cuts. Definitely an assembly diagram is needed!

When I made a few road signs with Cars, I was having issues, too. I finally didn't cut them the way they were "suppoed" to be layered and used my Gypsy to alter the cuts and did my own thing. MUCH easier. I think I used about half the paper I would have otherwise with less layers.

I agree about the Disney carts, too many little pieces, but the cards do look lovely after hours of pulling your hair out. Cowgirl is correct about 4 legged friends. Who ever did that cart must have been color blind. I have the worst trouble picking out colors for my cards and I love 4 legged friends but, I go crazy when I want to make something from this cart. A blue dog or cat is unnatural.

There are some smaller pieces but they are easy to figure out where they go. if they are too small I've found that the images look just fine without with out them. (unlike with the disney ones where its noticeable something is missing) most of the images don't have a lot of tiny pieces just a lotta layers, I would suggest looking at the handbook and looking at the layers to see how some of the small pieces are formed.

I have to go with Everyday Pop-up Cards. An instruction book like ScrapperDee suggested is sorely needed. I made most of the pop-up images out of computer paper so I knew what I was doing. Now when I need to use it, I pull out my mock-ups to figure it out.

So far mine is still Tinkerbell and Friends. It took DD and I about 4 hours to do Tinkerbell and another fairy. I think they were cut at 3 or 4 inches-way too small, especially those eyes and tiny pieces. I have not used this cart since, but if I do, she will be cut a lot bigger this time!LOL
