2 Floating frames for a wedding gift

They are fabulous - how did you secure the glass in the frame - are they specially made frames for doing this floating frame look. What a lovely wedding gift

Hi Kaye I had to make a Rectangle box (1.8" x 10) and then i also made two .25" x 10" (for example) rectangles. I placed the two little rectangles on top of the big rectangle on the edges. then welded them together. and placed over the Big Letter. I did this on the Gypsy. Those are just fantastic! Love them!
A note on the hot glue - I have also used that and had a little trouble later. I just layed down a bead of hot glue on the inside of the frame and placed the glass on top of it. It held fine, but later I found the glass was coming lose and could fall out really easy.
So now, if I use hot glue, I go back and add a few spots of hot glue over the top of the glass and onto the frame a bit (corners especially) - Don't use so much that it shows from the other side - but enough that you have a more secure bond.
I also use E6000 glue to adhere the glass - but that takes longer to cure. Hot glue is FAST!

Thanks for sharing your projects Karon! Thanks for the Advise,I actually have started to put the hot glue on the inside and outside of the glass also. I was also finding the glue wasn't holding as good so i was using more.

The frames are beautiful.
Hinging is when you are trying to place and centre the vinyl on the glass with out it moving before taking off the transfer paper. you tape ( i used painters tape) the left edge so it is like a door, and your vinyl won't move. you flip it over (open it like a door) and then you take the transfer paper off and then you use the mist method by spraying water and a little of dish soap from a squirt bottle on the back of the vinyl (sticky side)also use a fine mist, slowly flip your vinyl work back over the glass and then you push all the air bubbles out using your scrapbooking tools or credit card lol. If this totally doesn't make sense. I learned how to do it on u-tube. this way you will be able to see what i am talking about. It made doing these projects so much easier. Krista
