Hi, I can't believe how late it is. Such a busy day. I did some shopping this morning. Had $$ off coupons from Kohl's and Penney's and a hard time finding something. This afternoon I worked on my album. I still need a short journaling for one page then it's done. Taxes this week. If I could be sure the standard deductions are better than itemizing I could go straight to the short form.
Deb, my laundry is done, including the few things that needed ironing. Your lunch was short and sweet and everyone well fed. Glad you had some time to relax. I hope you didn't miss that hour too much.
Gramma, did you enjoy the sunny day? It was 66 today and sunny. Backdoor open most of the afternoon.
Jess, I would be lost without DS. I am ok with some things but need him for others. I did get my tablet today!! It's the Samsung Galaxy. I'll take it out of the box soon. Yes I'm on FB. I'ld like to see your cards and cute ideas.
Phyllis, what kind of cubes did you find at M's? Do you have to do anything else with them besides assembling? I bet your dogs enjoyed the pork ribs but unfortunately paid the price later. Glad they are ok now.
Hope everyone else had a good weekend too.

Renate, the cubes are those jet max type cubes, although this one had the Recollection brand on it. They just stack on top of each other. I had 5 and needed one more so I could have a flat surface for storing things on top. They are about 14 x 14 inches. We always go the standard deduction route, not enough deductions to itemize anymore. Hope your work week is good. Yes, it is late way too early.

Hope it's a good day for all!

Good morning.....looks like it could rain any minute and they say we have a chance every day this week....but highs are up to 81 several days....
Phyllis how did your Skype time go? Is she learning the new cutter? Yes the kids ate and ran yesterday but usually they do hang around for a couple hours.....we understand....just happy we had them all here at one time....gets harder the older they get....
Unable to get the motor home in for service til Wed or Thurs, he has an employee out with hand problems.....so if we can't get it repaired we will move our trip to about the first of April....nothing set in stone....just as long as we get to go 'somewhere' I will be happy.....
Hope everyone has a great day, we are headed back down to see if a tip hubby was given has worked.....then I am off to start some house work....
Later.....

Deb~I hope you enjoyed some slug time yesterday! Wow to 81*!! We've had rain all day today. What's wrong with the motor home?

Phyllis~Good job on getting your cubes together! Glad the dogs are better? Speaking of ribs, did you do them in the crock pot? I've never made them in the crock pot but think I'm going to attempt it. I'll have to search for a good recipe....unless someone else has one to offer.
I have a PC but I'll see if I can figure out something with that link. I was able to get them to my computer, kind of, I think. The were showing up as jpeg's but when I'd click on them I could see the picture. I got all of the pictures into an album, I'm looking to transfer the whole album all at once rather than 251 photos one at a time!! I thought that was strange with the iPad too (FB/Twitter). If you use the FB app, you can put a picture from your photos onto FB. But again, one at a time.

Renate~Good for you for not letting coupons go to waste!! I have a 30% for Kohls, hope I can find time to go look. Woohoo for the tablet!! I bet you will love it and possibly become as addicted as me!! I'll be sure to let you know if I can get the pics on FB.

Really busy day at work along with being very tired. My co-worker is off on Friday (I call those bonus vacation days for me) so I won't be out as early as I have been lately. I have a meatloaf in the oven. A silly as it sounds, I'm hoping to be in bed by 6. I don't think it'll happen but I'm going to try!
I'm going to post this and then come back and try and post a picture.

Hello everyone.

Deb, hope you can get the motor home all ready for traveling. My friend hasn't even worked on her cutter since she went back home, I think her life is way too busy, it seems there is always something taking her away from playing. I'm going to visit her next week and force her to play some. We are going to have temps in the 70's for the next 10 days, guess the plants and trees will really be greening up.

Jess, DH made the ribs, that's one of his meals he makes. He browns them and pressure cooks them. I'm sure they would be good in the crock pot too. There is a way to plug your iPad into your computer and go thru iTunes to transfer pics also, but I have a Mac so not sure how it would work with a PC. There are a lot of steps and I don't even remember them. I suppose you are in bed by now, I can't imagine going to bed that early but I'm not working your schedule either, LOL.

Evening....motor home goes to the shop Wed morning, hubby has found what he thinks is the trouble...he is hoping to wait while they fix the 't' that seems to be stopped up. I did manage to get 3 rooms cleaned today and will pick back up Wed....tomorrow is voting day....3 calls this afternoon, again....1 was a local for the school board...
Have errands after voting, then we both have a hair cut tomorrow afternoon.....
Renate I missed your post about the new tablet, enjoy...I am waiting for mid May so I can upgrade my phone...it was a model that Motorola decided 'not' to upgrade the operating system...will need to see what brands are the best and my plan allows for me to upgrade 'cheap or free'...
Jess enjoy your 'day without the co-worker' later this week....hope you make it to bed early.....
Gramma how is your weather?
Pat are you still purging?
Joanne how did the birthday celebration for your hubby go?
Phyllis when do you get your counter for your room? Did you get the lights up?
I saw Karen make a post on FB about being discharged from the hospital, hope things go well for her this time...
Later....

Hi, I went out back after dinner to assess what all has to be done. Weed control is at the top of my list. I'm going to use some roundup to clear weed patches and start over with grass seeds. It will be a pain but I want the grass to look a little better this year. Canceled the lawn service, it was a waste of money.
It got up to 72 today, 70s all week, same as you Phyllis. The extra storage boxes sound great, glad you got the one you needed. If this year's taxes end up with the standard deduction then we will go that way from now on too. I can use the saved time for something better.
Deb, I hope you get your mobile home road-ready on Wednesday and that it won't take too much money. I didn't get much cleaning done this weekend. I really need to spend at least one full day cleaning..it just never seems to happen.--I got the tablet yesterday and it is still in the box. Good luck with the phone. It is really hard to chose with so many models out there. Cheap or free should narrow it down somewhat though.
Jess, have a good 2nd night at work. I'm happy for your upcoming vacation/work on Friday. I probably will become addicted to my tablet once I take it out of the box and play with it LOL. --I have a 30% Kohls coupon too this time and plan to go back to Kohls before it expires. Don't get the 30% very often.
We had pork steaks, mashed potatoes and salad for dinner, turned out pretty good.
Hello to everyone else.

Hello again.

Deb, I did get the lights up and my counter top arrives Wednesday. Hope the RV will be on the road again, can't have those wheels not running. I hate vehicle repairs, they end up costing an arm and leg. No cleaning for me today, I spend the whole day either on the phone or getting more cards done. Got my Dexa Scan scheduled for Thursday. I have not been taking my Fosamax regularly, hope my results don't show that.

Renate, DH was doing some surveying on what needs to be done in the yard, he loves doing yard work so I don't bother him until he gets in my flower beds, he tends to think every thing is annuals and need pulling up. LOL.

Greetings from Sunny (but cool) WNY. We could get to the fifties today with any luck and the wind in the right direction.
You would have been proud of me yesterday. I went to DS ans DDIL's to sit with #2DGD while #1DGD went to her first "guitar" lesson, and not a peep out of me about the whole earring deal. Even after Mom made a point of telling me how good #1 was during the process. #1DGD had her eyes tested yesterday and is getting fitted with reading glasses. That kid has more appointments to be somewhere than Obama.
Need to contact my Amish friend and get some images cut for the OJ. CFS cards are going very, very slowly this time for some reason.
We get our taxes finished up this afternoon. Finally!
Leftovers for lunch and dinner today.. DH loves the no-cook days!
Stay safe and warm.
Hugz,

Happy Tuesday
Sounds like everyone has been busy busy. And good weather to boot!
Treasure hunt is done. We did 9 stores and started the pages on Friday night. They offer them as make and takes at each store, but we do take and make... I always have to put my own spin on them so it is more fun to do them at home! Went to one of DH's favorite restaurants for his birthday then home for cake and ice cream. Both DDs called him so he was happy.
Renate - Enjoy your new tablet! We cancelled our lawn service too. They called trying to renew it - said they had made some mistakes last year and this year would be better - So BIL asked for a refund for all of last year!!! yeah right!
Jess - Glad you had a good time at your stamping thing. WooHoo for a "vacation" from your co-worker!
Phyllis - sounds like your room is really coming along!
Pat - thanks for the new theme. I have some cards to mail tomorrow. Are you going to see the cherries this year? How are they?
Deb - Hope the motor home will be a quick (and cheap) fix.
Gramma - I pierced my DDs' ears when they were about 7 I think. Neither of my DGDs are done. There are a lot of times tho' when I would like to say something about other things. But I keep my mouth shut.Blink
Off to VA on Thursday to help DD redo their bathroom. We have to take a bunch of tools so we are driving the truck - not looking forward to that.
Joanne

Another beautiful day here, in the 70s. Of course I was indoors most of it.
Phyllis, your DH would probably love the challenge of my backyard. I have the slope for the road noise, and it seems whatever grows on the slope has roots that go on forever. I will rip it all out and try either plain grass or groundcover.---Your room is almost done. Pictures please!
Joanne, we keep getting calls from lawn services too but won't get any of them. Glad you had an enjoyable treasure hunt and your DH a good birthday. It's so nice of you to help with DD's bathroom.
Gramma, kudos for not voicing your opinion. You would think our grown kids should think and do as we do LOL. Did your #1 pick out her glasses? Kids with glasses are so cute.
Jess, almost time for you next workday. I hope it goes well.
I have some Mother's Day cards started. But before I get into them too much I want to mail the boxes that are full. I asked DH for his time again to fill out the forms and address the boxes. I told him it's his contribution. He really is glad to do it and has the time.
It's been so quiet, I hope everyone is fine.

Hello castlemates.

Gramma, hope some of this spring weather reaches you, it was in the mid 70's today with lots of sunshine. I agree your DGD's are busy getting their ears, eyes and lessons taken care of. I'm proud of you for not rocking the boat with your DDIL, LOL.

Joanne, I see you're on the go again but this one might not be too much fun, remodeling is a pain but I know you'll still enjoy your time with them.

Renate, glad DH helps you with the forms. You're using that tax word again, reminds me that it is really getting close and I am going to go out of town next Thursday for a few days but as soon as I get back home they will get done. I will get some pics of my new stuff in my scrap room.

Jess, how are you doing tonight, well duh, guess you are in bed by now.

I've been making cards tonight, got a few done. Mostly Mother's Day. Gave the dogs a bath today and Cody (white dog) went outside and rubbed his face and head in the mud (he managed to find a muddy spot in the yard), he looked horrible, I had to take him back to the utility tub and give him a touch up, I wanted to paddle his butt but he did look cute, he had no idea. LOL.

good morning and what a beautiful one it is here. I have been outside most of the morning working on the pile of branches in the backyard. Next I am going to work on the leaves under the bushes. I should be inside working on the page kits, but I have got to get ahead of spring. It is going to be upper 70's until the weekend.

Joanne, they are saying the blossoms will probably open before the estimated 24th. I am not sure if we will get downtown this year. I have the crop on the 23 -25 and so we will have to see. How long are you going to be in VA?

Phyllis, thanks for answering the ?? on the thread. I had meant to, but got interrupted and then forgot. Bad thing about the envelopes is all the different sizes. I got a big box of envelopes from a friend and they are all different colors and sizes. It would be fun to have a group together to make cards for them, but it involves a lot of paper.

Renate, sounds like you are trying to get your yard under control also. Mine looks so neglected, it is embarrassing.
Jim does my forms for me. He presses hard and prints neatly. He usually does them when he is having his coffee in the am.

Hello to everyone else (Deb, Gramma, Jess and others) I am back to the yard.

Sunny Wednesday Castlemates!
Well the taxes are finished for this year and our donation to the State is in the mail. I have a feeling that if you live in NY, you just assume you'll pay more NY taxes than they take anyway. I wonder why no one likes to live here...?
DH is making soup for supper... smells wonderful in my kitchen right now. The plumber is on the way to fix a couple of leaks. (DH can't be compared to a handyman in any way shape or form.) Thank goodness for professionals.

Joanne, when you finish that bathroom, I have one that has needed remodeling for years you can have a go at..JK NY state just took all the leftover $$ from the kitty.

Pat, don't dis your yard.. its great!... very nice when we stopped by last year. I hope the Cherry blossoms don't get ruined with all the weird weather going on.. that would be criminal.

Hellos to Phyllis, Jess, Deb, Renate and Karen (if she's peeking).
Stay safe!

Afternoon.....I started cleaning house on Monday and finished it up about 1 today, then out to wash the car, got the motor home repair done, only $20 which was cheap enough...thank goodness I had put towels and sheets down to catch the 'dirt', believe me they can make a huge mess.....but all is good and dirty things washed and put away. It has been nice today, 79*, would love to get in the yard, but need to be where I can work more than just a couple of hours...yesterday was voting, errands and hair cut....
Joanne glad your DH had a nice b'day, have a safe trip and fun working in the bathroom....
Gramma soup sounds yummy......we will probably have a sandwich of some sort......sorry about the state taxes....
Renate and Jess.....hope you both had good work days today......
Phyllis shame on Cody for getting dirtyBigGrin, they are just like kids and Sunday clothes....glad your room has come together for you.....
Pat hope you got to work outside too.....
We are headed out on Sunday for a couple days....probably be in Gulf Shores since the campgrounds are cheaper than in Panama City Beach....I really don't care where we go as long as I go somewhere...
Hope everyone has a great rest of the day, I need to get a to do list started for things I need to get done.....and get on the bike again too....got a 20 min ride in yesterday....nice on the patio too....
later.
Deb

Everyone is in the Spring-mode!!
Phyllis, your Cody sounds like a rascal, I bet you couldn't be mad at him when he looked at you. Deb is right, they are just like kids. Glad your room is coming together at last. Sorry about that tax word, it just won't go away.
Pat, I don't know about control over my yard. If I can just kill the weeds and prevent the ant invasion I will be sorta happy. I sprayed half of the perimeter of the house with ant spray today. I'll do the other half tomorrow. Took a walk around the neighborhood after the yard work. I was in training almost all day today and needed moving. -- It's nice of your Jim to do the forms too. --I have been in DC many times but have always managed to miss the Cherry Blossom event. I hope you will get to go.
Gramma, sorry about the taxes. Are the plumbing leaks fixed? Smart to use a professional if you don't want to attempt the job yourself.
Deb, wow only $20 for the repair is great. You sure got a lot of cleaning done today. I'm so far behind it will get done when it gets done, eventually.
Jess, hang in there, almost done for the week again.
Hello to Joanne and Karen.

Well, I'm a little late checking in, guess everyone is in bed or heading that way soon. Gorgeous day here also.

Gramma, I had to LOL at your remark about comparing your DH to a handyman. Thank goodness my DH can fix most anything but we have friends who are just the opposite. Glad your taxes are out of the way, sure hope ours don't do too much damage.

Pat, it's just too hard to stay inside when the weather is so nice. I've been in and out all day but had to get some laundry done too. No problem on answering the question, just hope I answered it OK.

Deb, a $20 repair bill is unheard of for us, that just barely gets an oil change. I bet your're exited to be going to the Gulf coast. Will you be able to check in? Cody has no shame at all, LOL and shortly after that Scooter got into white paint. DH was repainting some slats on the picket fence and Scooter just had to check it out. It's mostly on his tail, I got most of it out on his back. These canine kids have been brats lately.

Renate, we get ants from time to time, haven't seen any for awhile but as soon as I say this, they will show up in groves. Hope you don't have to sit through that training again tomorrow. I'm getting ready to post a few pics of my new island, counter top arrived today, so I quickly got some pics.

Oh My Gosh Phyllis, your scrap room is AWESOME. I can't imagine having a space so perfect. Makes mine look so thrown together, which I will admit it is...... I would be afraid to make a mess.

I am about ready to head to bed. I've been watching a movie, and it is almost over. I have 2 more page kits almost finished.

I spent the whole day in the yard. There is a LOT still to do, but at least I got started. Tomorrow I am meeting a friend for Tea, so will be gone most of the day.

WOW! WOW! WOW!Drool Drool Drool Phyllis your room is gorgeous...I do believe we have Paradise II on the roster now. Must be the dogs sense spring and are felling their oats a little eh! I miss our dogs, but not as much as I enjoy jumping in the car and leaving overnight with no worries.
Hellos to the rest of the Castle. A little thunder here this AM, but very little rain. Just overcast and cool out there.

Phyllis, wow your room is awesome. I would never want to leave it. I imagine mine is a closer match to Pat's. Every inch filled with shelves, totes and such. Anyway, you did good!! I had training again today, but only in the morning.
My ant-spraying has to wait, rain clouds are looming over us. We had a nest when we pulled up the carpet a few years ago and put in laminate wood. It was hard to get rid of the ants. Last year they weren't so bad.
Pat, good start in the yard for you. Hope you get the remaining page kits done soon.
Gramma, did your rain end and the temps go up? We had about 80 again today and are breaking records.
Deb, how was your day?
Jess, your fun work night tonight woo hoo!
Hello to Joanne and whoever I missed.

Good evening queens. Thanks for the compliments on my room, I love my island most of all. It stormed early this morning here and is now starting again. Our little stinker dogs are so scared of storms, they won't let you sleep. I went for my Dexa Scan today, glad to get that over with. It's not really bad, just hate anything medical connected. The girl that did it was having trouble figuring out how many inches tall I was, she even had me confused. I sure hope she knew how to run the machine.

Gramma, the dogs are certainly feeling their oats, another semi bath today after the rain they ran the fence line with the dogs next door and mud all the way to their belly, it's hopeless to try and keep them clean with this rain. It was 76 degrees today.

Renate, your temps were more than ours today. Oh, I hope you can get rid of those ants, they can reek havoc.

Pat, hope you were able to accomplish things today, not me. As for messing up my room, the more room you got, the more places to mess up which I do all the time. I try to clean up every night but sometimes not.

Hello Jess, Deb and anyone else who may drop in to see us.

Sunny & warm here... well, hi 50's...

Gramma, I was wondering the same thing. Don't know where everyone is, I was afraid I killed the thread, LOL. It's another beautiful day here.

Happy St. Pats Day to you too and everyone else.

Happy St Patty's day to you all.......we didn't go to a car show this morning but opted to head to Gadsden and Dairy Queen......short trip but we enjoyed the ride....way too much pollen to let the top down today too.....I just haven't been on the computer much the last couple days....
Apartment cleaning Thursday morning, home to eat and out to the yard....got two flower beds in the back cleared of weeds, for now anyway....put out 2 gallons of weed killer, fed birds, etc. Thursday night after supper I got a bit sick and still felt bad Fri morning, but managed to get the WM for groceries with hubby's help. Baked a pound cake late yesterday for us to have for our trip....have just about loaded the motor home with everything except a few last minute things...coffee, makeup, the dog and hubby....BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin
Phyllis your room is amazing.....I would never want to leave it....no wonder your friend like to come visit you....
Gramma it is about 75 here, beautiful except everything is 'yellow'.....anyway we must have pollen to have all the other stuff.....
Hello to Pat, Jess, Renate and anyone else that might drop in.......
Got a call from the wife of the fellow that does all our repairs, she is having triple bypass surgery Tuesday....45 years old and already had one stint and it is almost closed up......so young.....
Well I am going to check my potatoes I have cooking for supper, add some chicken and we have a quick meal.....
Hope everyone has a great rest of their day, not sure I will have service while I am gone.....but will have my phone so maybe I can keep up.......will check in after we get home late Tues or maybe Wed....
