A couple of months ago I asked a silk screening supplier if they had or could make a screen at a 40 mesh so I could burn my own screen or use vinyl so that I could use glitter ink to make my cards with my Yudu Cardshop. They got back to me this week to tell me yes! Well, I just placed the first order! Just think of the possibilities, between Cricut and Cardshop with a 40 mesh screen and glitter ink.

It was a small screen for cardshop? Can't wait to see what you do with it!!!

Yes, it is specifically for the Cardshop. I bought the Cardshop and found I couldn't use glitter ink because of the screen mesh, and I love glitter on my cards. Since this place makes the aftermarket yudu supplies I e-mailed them and asked them if they had or could make screens for the Cardshop. At first they said it would cost too much, so I went back to them and told them the screens are just plastic and small, it should cost less than what they currently charge for the big yudu aftermarket screens they make. They said they would research it further and then came back to me this week to let me know that yes they could plus they can make 4 mesh sizes at a resonable cost.
The possibilities are endless with the different mesh sizes. To be able to go from a screen with glitter ink to one that will do very fine details. I'm excited!

You are welcome. I just hope other people that have Cardshop purchase them also, in that way they will keep making them.
Perhaps you could make an announcement on your blog and other places. I think this was one thing PC should have considered, putting glitter ink on cards and needing the proper screen to do so. Might even work with flocking.

Just as a tid bit. I have put glitter onto wet ink and have had some moderate success. BUT you get glitter overage that just won't brush off. I have several prints that are a couple of years old and have nice sparkle to them. Hope that helps for those w/o glitter screens. Of course, your screen sounds awesome!!

I think if you were extra careful, and only doing one item, you could cut a vinyl or contact paper pattern, stick it on and apply the ink and glitter. Then when dry peel off the vinyl stencil. That is what I would try to do to keep the glitter from getting everywhere.

I keep forgetting to post that I got my screens. It took about 6 weeks, but I LOVE them! I did a t-shirt for my daughter's doll using adhesive and glitter (I got an 86 mesh screen for that).
GypsyBoricua- where do you get glitter glues? I keep meaning to ask. I did get the 40 mesh so I could try it.
I also got the 230 for paper.

I don't use glitter glue. Too much clean up (I'm lazy).
Dharma Trading - Lumiere for glitter. You can get different amounts, 2.25oz ($3.35), 8oz ($11.39) or gallons. Their other inks are good as well. You can use the Lumiere for both fabric and paper.
I got my screens too late for my Christmas Cards, I'm going to use them for Valentine's day.
