Currently, I have the round blue loom. At first, I didn't like it, but I just picked it up a couple days ago because I wanted to make a quick scarf and I remembered how fast it was compared to knitting with needles. My question is has anyone made baby blankets or even throw size blankets with it? I have a yarn stash to get rid of, and am thinking this may be the way to go. Which loom do I need for this? I was watching youtube videos, and noticed how nice the stitch on the long looms looked, but then, that is for double sided work, right?
How do you know which loom you need? For blankets, I would have to knit back and forth to increase the width, right?
So much I need to know before I go use a coupon to buy a loom or looms. lol

You could use your round loom but just knit as a panel instead of in the round. The long rectangle looms can be used to do double knit (which is what you were thinking) or a single knit on one side or all the way around the loom on one edge... the possibilities are endless I swear! Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply, Becky. I would also like to know how to gauge the width of the knitted piece so I know which loom to buy. The little blue one is definitely too small.
Do you like the round or the rectangular ones best, and why?

I suggest you get a few books on loom knitting. I have two of the Isela Phelps books that are pretty good. Thanks for the info! I actually have 2 loom knitting books in my amazon cart. One is a basics and the other on sock knitting by Isela Phelps. lol I found a youtube video with the info I was looking for about loom sizes, and I am thinking about getting the set of rectangular KK looms. I like the look of the double sided knit and I can still use them to do a single sided one if that is what I want. Not real big into hats--at least not right now! lol
If you can think of any other tips, I would surely appreciate the help!
My current little loom project is going to be an infinity scarf, I think, since I am using all the pegs and knitting in the round. I also want to try cotton dishcloths with it. Should be the perfect size for that, I hope.
