I have the original Cricut, and I was cutting out shapes the other day when halfway through cutting, the pressure released on my machine. It's like the pressure tension just stopped working. The machine still runs perfectly otherwise. It will still attempt to cut, but it's like the blade doesn't have any pressure to cut through the paper. At the time I was cutting regular card stock, nothing thick. I tried other paper, and I tried changing the blade out. I even tried changing the pressure dial itself, and that didn't work. I'm not sure what the issue is. I even took the cover off the cutting unit to see if there was something damaged, but I can't see anything that looks damaged. Anyone got any ideas or know if anyone can repair it?

I have two housing units for the blades and I've changing that too. I also found some factory reset instructions, and I tried those and that didn't work either. I'm betting that there is a spring or pressure mechanism somewhere inside that has broken, something that I can't get too. It's the pressure that pushes the blade down isn't there at all.
