If your E2 is stuck on the Logo Screen, follow the below information:

With the power off press the magnifying glass the pause key and power button

You will then see a rainbow test pattern screen the machine will cycle the roller bars and then the blue calibration screen will come on with the cross hair in the upper left hand corner.

Chase the cross hairs and then it should go to the mat screen

I really appreciate your E2 tutorial. I just got mine yesterday and I am almost ready to send it back, because I find it very confusing and the instructions are worthless. After viewing your tutorial, I will give it another chance. I am very disappointed after all the hype.

The current software version (Friday, October 7, 2011) of the E2 is Version 1.01 (0043:0017:0240). Therefore, if that is not your version or greater, then you need to update.

PC only as Mac does not need CCR drivers:

When using CCR, under the help in CCR, go to install drivers and install the E2 CCR driver to your E2. Then you should be able to cut in CCR via E2.

The cutting speed cannot be adjusted when using Craft Room with Expression, Create, or Personal Cutter. We are looking at ways to allow it to be adjusted. Speed can be adjusted if you are using E2 or Imagine. The settings in the CCR Cut Preview screen will override any setting on the machine itself.

Finding Firmware From E2:

If you can't catch the E2 firmware on boot up, tap the wrench icon on the main screen, tap the right arrow at the bottom 4 times, then tap the ! icon. You will see the firmware number which is a series of number:a series of numbers:a series of numbers.

Scroll up to post 32 as those links should work. I turn my housing upside down and carefully pull out the blade and then insert another blade.

Anniversary Edition (no WiFi connector came with my machine) - I have just updated my E2 and the numbers (on the machine) are as follows: 1.01 0065:0017:0240 - can you tell me why my numbers are different to the current 15th. Nov. update and also different to the Cr.Sync numbers? On Sync after I updated the numbers showing on my computer were: 2.053 0065:0017.
Also If I install the drivers for CCR on my E2 - can I still install the drivers for the Imagine? Stupid questions probably - sorry Blushing

Nooo, not a stupid question at all and you're welcome. One of our members updated her E2 to that firmware so if you did not get that firmware, then that probably tells me that PC is still tweaking it and pulled that one. Therefore, I will re-post it with your firmware until further notice. Thanks for alerting me and you are up to date.

Yes, you can install the drivers for as many different Cricuts that you have as the CCR drivers are different for each machine.

The E2 can link both Imagine Art and Pattern carts to the Gypsy Imagine App.

The E2 can link Imagine Art carts to CCR. It cannot link Imagine Pattern carts at this time. Currently, you can only link cartridges when you go to print/cut with them, so only Imagine could ever ask you for a pattern cart to even reach the option to link it.

Hi Mercy, You want to clarify this one? Just to link carts right? As far as I know you cannot use the Gypsy Imagine App with the E2. Has something changed?

Yes, to add the carts to the GI app as you can use the E2 or the I. I did not ask if the GI app can be used with the E2 yet as I will send another email to see if we will be able to or if it is capable of doing so now. Well, at least the cutting feature.BigGrin

Thanks Mercy. I can tell you for a fact that the Imagine App DOES NOT work with the E2 (at least 0111:0035 doesn't). Now maybe there's been an update to allow this (and you KNOW I am still waiting on one to fix the legacy cart issue where the Imagine wants you to plug it in), but at the the version above the App will tell you that your IMAGINE is not plugged in.

Can the jukebox be used with CCR and or the Imagine?

Imagine and E2 has the same results. When you change cartridges, it will clear the queue. But you can use it for detecting cartridges in CCR, as long as you push the button so the jukebox has highlighted the cartridge CCR is looking for.

I followed these instructions and it is still stuck on the logo screen. Is there anything else I can try?

This update includes the following:

Cutting to the Cricut Mini™ with the Gypsy® device:
• The Gypsy device must be updated to the 0227:0234 (0227 firmware and 0234 content) version through the Cricut® Sync program found at www.cricut.com/cricutsync
• The Cricut Mini firmware must be updated to Version .23 in order to communicate with the Gypsy device .

The firmware can also be found in Cricut Sync. Once the E2 is connected, click help and about as the firmware, Cricut Sync version and your E2's serial number should be displayed in a popup screen on your computer.

The E2 does not have an auto power off and unless things change, it is not going to have it. Therefore, it is best to make sure the E2 is off while unattended.

Replacement AE2:

The AE2 owner who will receive an E2 as a replacement at some point in the future will be given access to Just a Note and Cricut Decals that was pre-loaded with the AE2. Product and Development is aware of this issue as a process for a future access is still in the works. A physical cart will not be given out with the replacement as the E2 will only come with the 2 pre-loaded carts of the E2, Alphabet and Essentials.

Cannot turn off E2

If you have firmware 1000 and it appears that your power button does not work as it takes several pushes to turn off the E2, then hold down the power button longer so the E2 can correctly power off.

Reformatting the E2

Until further notice or unless PC tells you to do so, PC does not advise doing a reformat and restore on the E2. Remember, reset is different from reformatting!

having a problem getting cricut design studio to find my cricut expression 2 cutter the critcut chat finds it and alows me to cut, i cant up date driver to 4.2, running windows 7 profecial 64 bit, computer finds cutter fine, did all the off on things, can anyone hello please. thank you

Unfortunately DS is not compatible with the E2 (or Imagine). However, you can download and use Cricut Craftroom. HTH
