Special card for my new daughter-in-law whose birthday is today. On the second picture I lifted the scarecrow so you can see where I will place my sentiment. The scarecrow is from Simply Charmed, the basket of apples and pumpkins are from Pooh and Friends, the sunflower is from Walk in My Garden, and the Happy Birthday is from Birthday Bash. This is my second try at a side step card and I wanted it to be extra special so it took more that 30 minutes to complete this card! Anyone surprised?  Joyful Carol attached the following image(s):

What a great way to "hide" the greeting. I've made several of these cards and usually put it behind the last step. Thanks for giving me a 'duh' moment. lol. Great card, lovely colors.

I changed my avatar picture to one from the wedding so all can see my lovely new daughter-in-law.
She loved her special birthday card.
Hopefully, she felt special and loved. We feel greatly blessed to have her in the family.

I have gotten quite a few comments about the place I chose to write more than just the Happy Birthday on the side step. I just folded a piece of cardstock and then cut it the same measurement as the tall side of the card. I then adhered it to the side and decorated the front to my liking. It is kind of like a card on a card! Especially on this special card I wanted to write more than just Happy Birthday!

Wonderful Card! I love all the detail and the way you made the larger section flip open to write a sentiment is ingenious! I always write it in the last step. Will definitely do this from now on.
