I was just on the phone with PC for over an hour trying to get my WiFi to work. But, it finally does BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin! I just thought I'd share some of my Home Network settings in case they can be of use to someone else...

I DO NOT broadcast my network name.

I use WEP security. There are a couple of settings within WEP, one of which was my problem!
WEP mode: WEP Only (802.1x is the other option - I have no idea what this is BigGrin)
Network Authentication: Both (mine was set to Open System Auth - which worked fine for my laptop, phone and nook; the E2 evidently wants Shared System Auth, so I had to change this to "Both". This is the one little setting that kept me from connecting RollEyes!

The Network Authentication setting is now in PC Support's troubleshooting script. You're welcome Wink.

Depending on your router, those settings might not fit your router but I guess it does not hurt to try it.

Yes, log in your router.

What error message are you getting?

THANK YOU!!! The network authorization setting was the problem, just like you said.

I too am having the same problem with the wifi. I see our network, only to get this: ""Connected to your wireless access point, but access to the internet is being blocked. Please contact your ISP for helping setting up your home network." Cricut sees it as wep2. Any other ideas?

Printed out what Laura found out to see if it works with my expression. Interesting to see that the wifi only works with updates, because I thought I heard them say you could use the cricut all around the house with out being near a computer.

Did the settings work for you? If not, call pc and let us know the outcome.

It will not work with the E as it will only work with the E2 and the I whenever it is released.

That's what I was getting initially. It's telling you it's connected, but it's not. On the screen with the list of networks, only when you have a check mark to the right of your network does it mean it connected.

If your home network is set up with WEP security, you'll need to go into your router setup to find that Network Authorization setting. Each router's software is a little different, so I don't know exactly where it will be on yours. Mine was under Wireless Settings/Advanced Security/WEP categories. If your network uses WPA or a flavor of WPA2, I don't know if this setting or an equivalent exists. Good luck!

If Laura's instructions do not work, then you will have to call your ISP so they can change your settings. Let us know the outcome.

Confused I am having the same problem. Beginning to wonder if purchasing the Wireless adaptor was a waste of money. I have tried different router settings and no luck. Has anyone had any luck. thanks

Laurel, I just spent ages on the phone to my internet provider who was none the wiser than I. I just should have looked at your post first! Thank you, it worked like a dream and I am now connected. I know you posted this months ago, but thank you anyway. You are just wonderful.
