I know I am going to love my E2 when I get the kinks worked out. Here is the problem I am having. When I try and load the mat, it hops and makes a horrible noise. Nothing like the smooth loading on the E or Imagine.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am going to see if I can upload a video of it.

Mine did at first. I think it was because it was slightly bent from shipping. I found that if I held it snuggly against the rollers before I hit the load button, it went in fine. I've been playing for a week and it hasn't done it for the last 2-3 days!

With mine I just have to place in the mat guides on each side and that's it, I don't have to hold the mat in place at all.
Are you placing in the mat guides?

Mine did the same thing the first couple of times I used it. Think the mat was bent a little. It is working fine now.

Hmm.. let's see. I tried a different mat, meaning an older one from my other E and one from the Imagine. Same thing. I switched blade housings with the old E, same thing. The only thing that made a difference was if I scooted the machine to the edge of the table so that the lid of the machine hung off the table, then it would sometimes load smoothly. Sure wish I could upload the video, so you could hear the noise. I can't call ProvoCraft today bc my daughter has a Brownie camp out that I need to pack for, so it will have to wait until Monday.

Mine makes a noise, not bad, and just makes a little jump as it loads in machine
If you are thinking it sounds strange, especially since you are familiar with other machines
I would call and get it replaced.
Are you placing in the guides, I ask that because some haven't noticed the new mat guides on the sides?
Hope you can get it replaced quickly.
